3 Decorative Ways to Portray Your Faith

Faith is what makes the world so diverse, because everyone has something that keeps them going from one day to the next. For most of us, faith is where our spiritual beliefs lie, but not necessarily based on a particular deity or religion. Instead, it is those ideas and notions that we hold fast in order to get through tough times, such as the love of family and close friends. We often display our faith in our homes-intentionally in most cases-and this is a perfect way to remind ourselves and those around us of what we love and treasure most. Here are three decorative ways to portray your faith in your home:

Wall murals are beautiful and make a bold, proud statement of what you want to convey in that room.

Murals are not as difficult to design as you might imagine, often requiring only some rudimentary knowledge of creating art and a few instructions from the Internet or an artsy friend. Stencils work great for creating letters and images, and they can be purchased very cheaply in most cases. You can find some really unique letter shapes and sizes at craft stores, especially specialty stores that cater to making your home look beautiful. If there is nothing like that near where you live, consider doing some online shopping to make your mural look fabulous. Find a statement, style, or quote that means something to you and speaks of your faith, then plan it on paper before you put it on the wall to be sure it is perfect for your home.

Use quotes and images together to create a focal wall that represents your faith.

For instance, if there are one or two people who are leaders or icons in your faith, you could create a focal wall that displays why you admire them. This could be a religious figure, respected leader, sports or Hollywood persona, or a member of your family who has passed away. Use stencils or freehand art to quote them and remind yourself of what is important, and add photographs and prints of that person as a visual reminder as well. Most people choose religious or social icons to create this type of focal wall, but there is no right or wrong person to show respect and admiration for when it comes to your faith.

Abstract or subtle artwork and accessories are ideal.

Most of us want something that makes an impact but does not overwhelm the room with our faith. Items such as crosses, family photos, one-word plaques or wall art, and so on are perfect choices in these cases, so that you can say what is meaningful without taking up your entire home. There are many different beautiful artistic representations of faith that we can use to decorate our homes, available at hundreds of online and retail stores around the world and many are affordable. They can be displayed in any room of the home, can be found to match any decor style, and to represent anything that resembles faith from your perspective.
