How To Get Over The Air High Definition Television
Things you will need:
1. An HD capable TV – This is very important. In order to View HD Broadcasts you need a television that is capable of displaying these broadcasts. If you don\’t have an HD capable TV you can purchase one for at Bestbuy
2. An Antenna – You will need an Antenna that is capable of picking up these broadcast signals. You can use your existing antenna. But for argument sake just go buy yourself and outdoor HDTV antenna. You can pick up a good one for under $100. You should be able to find an HD antenna at your local electronics store. If you don\’t have a local store or they don\’t supply one you can purchase one off of Ebay
3. You will need a way of mounting the Antenna on your roof. You should be able to find some stuff at Home Depot. Tell the guy at home depot what you are doing and he should be able to help you.
4. You will need RG 6 Coax cable to run from your Antenna to your Television. You can pick RG6 Cable up at your local electronics store. Depending on how much you need you can order large lengths off of Ebay. You will need to either purchase one with connectors on it or put them on yourself.
5. Depending on if you purchased and amplified antenna or not ( Which most of you will not need ) a power source to plug your antenna into.
So now that you have all you materials what do you do now.
Step 1. Put the antenna together. Most outdoor antennas will need to be put together. Just follow the instructions that came with the antenna and you should be fine.
Step 2. Find a good safe place to mount your antenna on your roof. You will be looking for a place that is 1. Close to the TV 2. Away from an objects that could obstruct the antenna 3. A safe place thats easy to get to incase you need to adjust the antenna.
Step 3. Once you have found a place to mount the antenna. Then use the mounting equipment the person at Home Depot recommended for you. Then Mount the Antenna and make sure it is very solid.
Step 4. Run The RG6 Cable from the antenna to the back of your TV. Now of this step since I have no Idea what your house looks like you will need to figure this out. Try and run the cable as clean as possible. Clip and screw it to the house in a neat manner.
Step 5. Hook the RG6 Cable to the back of your TV to the Antenna or Cable in.
