Feeling Anxious? How to Recognize Anxiety Symptoms and What Can Help You
Anxiety is normal reaction of feeling at a loss because you are unsure of what to expect. It can be aggravated by exaggerated misconceptions fed to you by others. You can suffer from mild to severe anxiety disorder. The mildest form of anxiety is very common like feeling nervous before a game or performing before a large crowd. These are also temporary and easily controlled once the activity gets going.
With severe anxiety attacks, the person can be scared to leave his home, or has phobias of anything which triggers the anxiety crisis. A severe anxiety attack can get dangerous if left untreated, because the person suffering could resort to violent actions.
Fortunately, there are ways of dealing with anxiety that has nothing to do with prescription drugs. You can try herbal remedies or even better, relaxation techniques. Some of the more common relaxation techniques are yoga, meditation, and deep breathing exercises. You should try it when you feel anxious.
It is also important to recognize the symptoms of an anxiety attack, not just for the safety of the person suffering from the attack, but also for the people around him or her. Some of the symptoms are:
– Unusual sweating and fast heart rate
– Difficulty in breathing normally
– Fears and phobias
– Difficulty in focusing and concentrating on a single task, much more multiple tasks
– Unusual body movements like twitching, sneezing, pacing, or twiddling of fingers; even tapping a pencil on the table, or chewing on something continuously
– Doom and gloom attitude, for no reason at all
– Dry mouth
– Numbness
– Difficulty in swallowing
– Difficulty in socializing and mingling with other people
– Feeling like you’re drowning and the noise around you is overwhelming you
These are just a few of the symptoms of an anxiety attack. You may experience one or a combination of several. However, never assume you are prone to anxiety attacks until you have consulted a professional. Once you begin to deal with your problem though, you will feel a lot better, because you would have taken the hardest step towards admitting you feel anxious about things or people.
One thing you must realize that you may have done nothing at all to start having anxiety attacks. It could be something that happened, or a health problem. This is why relaxation techniques are vital to learn so that you can control your feelings of anxiousness better.
The most effective means to alleviate the symptoms is to work on healing the internal strife which causes them. Hypnosis, performed by a trained professional, can help to ease the underlying fear and suffering.
Although powerful, hypnosis is not the magic pill you just agree to take to make your problems go away at the same time. Just like any journey it takes time to achieve the desired effect. Consecutive sessions may help you become aware of the cause of your worries, problems or anxiety symptoms and help relieve you mind of the mental block you have created for yourself.
