This flower stands for everything that is “mother.” It is very fragile and beautiful; with lot of petals, it fills up in any arrangement and has a sweet fragrance. The color of carnation one chooses depends upon what they want to convey to their mother. For instance, dark red or pink shows deep love or appreciation; light red or pink depicts respect or admiration for someone and also for expressing gratefulness. Light pink is the most used ones as there is a common belief that these flowers were created from the tears of mother Mary, hence they signify eternal love. White signifies purity and luck, which is very much motherly. Usually, yellow or purple carnations are not given, as they symbolize gloominess and irregularity respectively. Other mother’s Day flowers are Roses, which stands for the symbol of love. White, pink and red roses are most often given on this day. Lilies are also gifted to mothers on their special day. Along with these flowers or bouquets, some gifts are also given which could be handmade, while some are bought. Whatever is the gift or the flower chosen, it has to be presented with love and gratitude, as mother is the reason behind every individual’s existence and she stands for endurance and unconditional love. It has to be cherished and celebrated every day.
