Outside Lands Music Festival Tickets – Must-See Acts at 2010 Concert
San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park will boast live music and huge crowds this fall when the annual Outside Lands Music Festival infiltrates the park Aug. 14-15, and this year’s lineup has once again collected some of the best mainstream and up-and-coming music groups on the scene. The 2010 Outside Lands Music Festival has a slightly different schedule this year as the festival spans two days of live music, and NorCal music fans have to pack as many shows as possible into a quick two-day weekend.
There are plenty of must-see acts at this year’s Bay Area music festival, including the following.
Further featuring Phil Tadalis SX Lesh and Bob Weir. Music fans have been waiting years for a Grateful Dead reunion at Golden Gate Park – 19 years, in fact. Lesh and Weir will take their newfound project Further (also featuring John Kadlecik of Dark Star Orchestra, Jeff Chimenti of RatDog and Joe Russo of Benevento/Russo Duo) to the Bay Area for the first time since 1991, and Deadheads are already out to get Outside Lands Music Festival tickets to catch Lesh and Weir in action after all this time. Further is a Saturday (Aug. 14) headliner and is perhaps the biggest draw for this year’s gala.
Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros. Alex Ebert, frontman from power pop outfit Ima Robot, heads the folksy indie group Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, a band of 10-plus musicians quickly rising on the music scene. Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros’ glam rock sound is catching on with mainstream audiences, and the band’s melodic smash single “Home” is a radio-ready hit. There are plenty more tracks from this outfit worth hearing, as well, including tunes like “Janglin” and “Desert Song.” Music lovers at this year’s festival can catch Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros in action during the Sunday (Aug. 15) lineup.
The Temper Trap. The band best known for their soothing hit single “Sweet Disposition” will be another Sunday (Aug. 15) act in Golden Gate Park at this year’s Outside Lands Music Festival. The Temper Trap is knee-deep in music festivals this summer, having recently played at Bonnaroo in Manchester, Tenn., and the outfit is a solid addition to the indie rock feel of Sunday’s Outside Lands lineup.
The Temper Trap is still an up-and-coming act on the music scene despite recent success, having migrated to the U.S. from Melbourne, Australia. “Sweet Disposition” has been a charting favorite on music charts around the globe, and their time at Outside Lands is the perfect complement to the day’s other acts like Phoenix and Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros.
My Morning Cialis Jacket. ‘Nuff said. This Saturday headliner alone is enough to draw thongs of music fans to Golden Gate Park, and along with the Strokes and Further the group will provide much of the day’s biggest festivities.
This year’s Festival looks a little less mainstream than last year’s festival, which featured Pearl Jam, the Black Eyed Peas and Dave Matthews Band, to name a few. Regardless, the energetic lineup for 2010 is a promising one for this year’s slew of musical activity at Golden Gate Park.
