Choosing A World Cup Winner; It’s As Easy As A, B…G
We may be at the last 16 stage of the tournament, meaning that the high odds in football betting on some of the teams left to win the tournament are no longer available, but it’s still a fantastic time to make a bet on who is going to win the 2010 World Cup.
Allowing you to be a lot more accurate in your football betting, the following three teams – Argentina, Brazil and Germany – all have a history of being World Cup champions and are all playing well in this tournament, making most believe the title could easily go to any one of this trio.
Argentina – one of only two teams to finish the group stages winning all 3 of their matches (Netherlands were the other team), Argentina have proved to be a dominant force in the tournament so far.
Beating Korea Republic 4-1 and then Greece 2-0, it was only their opening match against Nigeria where they didn’t win by as big of a margin as expected, managing to only net one goal. However, it’s not a complete surprise, as Nigeria were one of the six African teams to be playing in the event, generally Levitra Professional giving them a slight advantage because of the climate.
There was some controversy in Argentina’s 3-1 win over Mexico in the last 16 stage (the main point being that there was a somewhat blatant offside that wasn’t given which allowed a goal), but the team looked extremely comfortable playing together and it would be surprising if they didn’t make it to the final.
Brazil – not losing a game in the difficult Group G, Brazil are the most decorated in terms of World Cup victories of any national team and have scooped five individual World Cup titles in their history. Starting in 1958, they won the following World Cup in 1962, then Brand Viagra again in 1970 after England won the 1966 tournament and took their final two titles in 1994 and 2002.
Plus, they’re the only team to have competed in every World Cup since the tournament began in 1930, which when coupled with their dominant performances in the previous events, means that although the team aren’t on form in the 2010 tournament, their history puts them in good stead for being able to take home their sixth World Cup title.
Germany – finishing top of their group with 6 points, which came from a 4-0 win over Australia and a 1-0 win over Ghana (Germany lost 1-0 to Serbia), they progressed to the last 16 stage with relative ease, coming up against England.
There aren’t many other suitable phrases to describe that last 16 match – Germany trounced England 4-1 and gave what looked like a Sunday league pub club a master class in how to play football at the highest level.
Winning three previous World Cups in 1954, 1974 and 1990, they might not be playing the same quality football as Argentina are or have the same championship history as Brazil do, but more and more people are predicting that this young German squad could go the distance.
