Many people think that the winter time is the best to escape the winter Tadacip weather of the mainland. However, it is not the time to fine the best weather of the best bargains in Hawaii.
You should know that Hawaii has a dry season that exists during April to October and a rainy season that lasts from November to March. In recent years, however, even the rainy season has been relatively quite dry.
Often, the best weather is found in April, May, September and October. These are also the months when you can find some good travel bargains.
Airfare and lodging tend to be more expensive during the “high” season of mid-December to mid-April. If you are planning to visit during this precise period, make sure your reservations are made early to ensure your spot amongst the popular rush.
The summer can also be hot and humid and the kids are out of school, so the beaches and other tourist spots tend to get pretty crowded. If you are not keen on crowds and business during your beach getaway, then keep in mind this may not be the best time for you and your family to make the trip.
However, it is easier for most to get time off during this vacationing season and to get the kids out of school, as they are not in school. So, you will want to weigh the options and see what works best for you and your family.
The last week in April and the first week in May are usually very busy in Waikiki. This is the peak season for visitors from Japan thanks to the Japanese “Golden Week” holidays in which many from the area travel to the islands.
Therefore, you not only have to take into account popular vacation times for those in your own country, but also those surrounding the rest of the Hawaiian Islands. Also, unless you plan to attend the Merrie Monarch Hula Festival, you should avoid the Hilo area of the Big Island during the week after Easter.
The Ironman Triathlon in October makes the Kona area of the Big Island very busy as well. And, though hurricanes are rare, the hurricane season lasts from June to November.
The last major hurricane to hit Hawaii was Iniki, which severely damaged Kauai in September 1992. The water temperature in the islands, however, is very consistent.
The year round average water temperature is a warm 74 degrees, but it can reach up to 80 degrees in mid summer. Therefore, you can take a dip in the ocean, no matter when you come; the water is always nice.
If you want to see big surf, the summer is not the time to go to Hawaii. Even Oahu’s famous North Shore waves are very tame. Winter is the time for the big surf in the islands.
There are always many exciting events throughout the year in Hawaii. You should be sure to check out one of their many events calendars to see what is happening.
You can even plan your trip around the events you are hoping to attend. If not, there is bound to be something great going on no matter when you are there.
The weather in Hawaii is consistently good most of the year, but the prices are much higher during the heavy travel season. You can decide what you want to see and do while you are in the area and then find the best time of year to accompany all of your requirements.
If you are a return visitor, you can even plan your trip during a different season to see some of the different aspects of the islands at their various times of the year. This way you can see the diverse beauty that the islands have to offer.
So, these are some tips and suggestions to help you plan your vacation at the right time to fit your needs and wants during your travel period. Make sure you plan ahead and get the best vacation possible in Hawaii.
