IPL Treatment Can Rejuvenate Your Appearance

In today’s society, we are all searching for ways to look younger. Cosmetic surgery is one option, but it is invasive and requires downtime for the procedure, as well as for healing. Many of us simply cannot afford cosmetic surgery as it is costly and not usually covered by insurance. There are, however, other options that are not invasive and are financially affordable by most people. One of these is the IPL Treatment.

An IPL treatment is also known as Intense Pulsed Light Treatment. Others Kamagra jelly refer to it as Photoderm or Photo Rejuvenation. These treatments use a broadband of intense pulsed light to improve discoloration in the skin and to tighten the skin area. The pulsed light is filtered to remove any ultraviolet components thus eliminating any possible damage from UV rays. Some of the conditions that IPL is particularly good at treating are: acne scars, sun damage, Rosacea, broken capillaries, age spots, freckles, and brown spots. It can also greatly improve red or ruddy skin, and pigmented birthmarks. These treatments can be used safely on any area of the body.

During an IPL treatment, the doctor uses a wand that has a broader range than used for regular laser procedures. However, since a laser is still involved, the patient should wear special glasses for safety. No anesthesia or pain medication is needed. The wand will send out light pulses causing heat which penetrates into the dermis layer, or deeper skin tissue, targeting the irregular blood vessels. This thermal effect stimulates the existing collagen and causes new collagen to be produced. The new collagen allows skin to look and feel smoother. It gives the patient the look and feel of younger skin. As the treatment does not burn the surface skin, or epidermis layer, any existing brown spots will darken and simply flake off like scabs do. Topical creams may be applied during the procedure to reduce and minimize any stinging caused by the treatment.

A typical IPL treatment will require anywhere from 4-6 sessions depending on the condition and area to be treated. Each treatment takes about 20 minutes, but some areas, such as the back or legs, may take as long as 45 minutes. There is no downtime or recovery time associated with this procedure. Patients can even do it during a lunch break. Some patients may experience a slight irritation, equivalent to having mild sunburn, during the treatment. In very rare instances, blisters may occur; however, this is very unusual. IPL is a quick and painless option for obtaining a more youthful appearance.
