NFL Tickets – Brett Favre Will Be in for 2010 Season
Brett Favre hasn’t yet announced a comeback for the 2010-11 football season, but Minnesota Vikings fans aren’t fretting. The 40-year-old quarterback is once again making headlines this offseason by skirting the issue of whether he will or won’t lead the Vikes through one more season on the football field, but all signs point to him returning for (at least) one last hurrah.
Favre isn’t likely to retire before this year, his 20th career season in the NFL, but at this point his return hinges on a few things – most importantly, his physical health. This year, the big deal regarding Brett Favre is an ankle injury he’s coming off. Even after offseason surgery, Favre’s ankle still isn’t reportedly back to normal. He recently told ESPN his return “starts with the ankle. I can walk fine, but you don’t walk in football.” That said, Favre isn’t expecting to be 100 percent going into the 2010 season, telling ESPN, “I guess at 40 I may never be [healthy].”
Should he stay with the Vikings for the 2010-11 NFL season, Favre will miss training camp once again. This isn’t a factor on whether or not he will come back to the field for the start of the regular season, considering he’s skipped out on most training camp practices over the last couple seasons. While rumors are still circulating on the football scene regarding his retirement, Favre is all but expected to show up for the regular season opener even though he won’t show his face in Minnesota for training camp in late July.
Still, there is speculation swirling around the league that Favre won’t be able to recover from last season’s injury and will be forced to retire before he finishes out 20 years in the National Football League. Without giving a direct answer on Brett Favre’s return, however, Vikings coach Brad Childress recently told ESPN he was “not that worried” about the quarterback’s ankle. Favre has been working out this offseason and has made Favre Watch a little more bearable for Vikings fans, and his ankle shouldn’t be an issue once August rolls around.
Even as one of the oldest players in the league, Brett Favre is still a name that sells heaps of NFL tickets no matter which team he plays for. The prolific quarterback has been one of the most heralded football players in the league since his NFL debut in 1991, when he was drafted in the second round to the Atlanta Falcons. After playing a year for the Falcons, Favre became the face of the Green Bay Packers franchise, serving as the team’s rocket launcher from 1992 through 2007.
Favre’s retirement saga has been an offseason ritual ever since 2008, when he announced a premature retirement and left the Packers. Favre came back with the New York Jets for a dismal season in 2008, but he rediscovered his spark with the Minnesota Vikings last season. Will Brett Favre be back on the field for his second year with the Vikings and 20th career year in 2010? The obvious Cialis answer is yes, but only time will tell for sure.
