NFL Tickets – Top Destinations for Terrell Owens
Even though Terrell Owens is headed for the Hall of Fame and still in great shape, teams have shied away from the troubled wideout this offseason. Still, there are teams out there that could use an instant boost from a quality wide receiver of Owens’ caliber. Let’s take a look at the possible destinations.
Denver Broncos:
After shipping out Brandon Marshall to the Miami Dolphins, the Broncos were left with a gigantic hole in their receiving corps. Right now, the Broncos have to rely on rookie Demaryius Thomas, Eddie Royal and Brandon Stokely. Though Thomas has serious upside, he’s still a rookie and Stokely and Royal have never been more than good number twos. Without a dynamic quarterback throwing the ball, the receiving corps is in serious danger of getting exposed this season. Bringing in Owens may not be the ideal move for a team that just got rid of one diva wideout, but you can’t deny that he would be a big upgrade.
Chicago Bears:
Similar to the Broncos, the Bears also lack a big play receiver. New offensive coordinator Mike Martz should help get the passing attack back on track in Jay Cutler’s second season in Chicago, but they still could struggle without many options at wide receiver. As of now, Devin Hester and Earl Bennett are expected to be the two starters with second year wideout Johnny Knox likely playing out of the slot. Rashied Davis is also on the roster but has never been more than a third receiving option at best. Owens is still in great shape and would be a tremendous complement to the powerful throwing arm of Jay Cutler. Even though Cutler has openly said that the wide receiving corps doesn’t need Terrell Owens, he might change his mind after a couple games of the regular season. You also can’t deny that Owens would probably help sell NFL tickets.
San Diego Chargers:
At first, the Chargers would seem like an odd choice for T.O., but recent issues with Vincent Jackson have to make Owens at least a consideration. Though Jackson is one of the better number one wideouts in the league, he’s suspended for the first three games of the season and he very well could end up sitting out the first ten weeks due to ongoing contract issues. The Chargers are expected to win the division once again but their window for a championship run won’t stay open forever. Philip Rivers is also the type of talented quarterback that can get the ball to Owens enough to keep him happy and he could definitely help them secure a high seed in the playoffs. As of now, the Chargers have to assume they won’t have their best wideout for most of the season. It might be time to start looking at other options.
Seattle Seahawks:
Along with the Cincinnati Bengals, the Seahawks have been the other team that has been whispered about as a possible T.O. destination. The Seahawks have T.J. Houshmandzadeh, but he’s better suited as a number two than a number one. The NFC West is also wide open this season as the Arizona Cardinals could take a step back and the rest of the division is largely unproven. San Diego would Kamagra Gold give T.O. the best opportunity to win a championship and be in the limelight but Seattle has shown some interest and could be a more realistic destination.
