Elton John Tickets – Working with Hall for ‘Animal Farm’
Elton John found success with his Broadway hit “Billy Elliot,” and plans to return to the stage with his Tony award winning partner Lee Hall for the George Orwell classic “Animal Farm.” Cialis Jelly According to Tony and Olivier award winner Hall, who spoke to London’s Daily Mail, the team has been working for more than two years to secure the rights for this dark show, and the songwriting process has already begun. “I’m deep into it, writing songs for pigs and other four-legged friends.” Much like the process for “Billy Elliot,” Hall will write the lyrics first before handing them over to John.
“Having worked with him on ‘Billy Elliot,’ I know that Elton likes to have the lyrics done and have them in front of him so I’ll work on a batch before I give him anything to look at,” Hall continued. “I would think it’s going to take about two years before its all ready to go.” While the music isn’t the only thing that makes a show, it’s often the most important part. It might be years before Orwell’s 1945 classic comes to stage, but chances are Elton John tickets won’t stop selling from StubHub.
While Elton John prepares for another Broadway blockbuster, hopefully he will get a little reprieve. John was recently forced to cancel a show at the Tucson Convention Center Arena following a bout with food poisoning. Just hours after he cancelled the Arizona show, “doctors assure[d] him he will be fine for tonight’s performance.” The show marks the final few dates for John in North America before he heads to Europe for a quick fall jaunt.
Though John finishes his tour in September, chances are he won’t be on vacation for long. Just a month later John and musician Leon Russell have scheduled the 16-song The Union for release. The studio effort produced by T Bone Burnett will debut Oct. 19 on Decca Records, and undoubtedly see stage support from the longtime friends. At 63 Elton John shows no signs of slowing down.
While he has managed to make a lasting career out of his pop music, John’s most fruitful decade was in the ’70s when he first debuted. Granted, he hasn’t been absent from Billboard, charting a Top 40 every single year from 1970 to 1996, but it was during the age of bellbottoms and flower power that he saw the most success. While it took him a while to wet his feet, once he was there little could stop the music man.
It was 1972’s Honky Chateau that gave John the first success of the day, with singles like “Rocket Man,” “Honky Cat” and “Mona Lisas and Mat Hattters.” While he’s already seen overseas success, Honky Chateau stayed at the top of the American charts for five weeks. It was only the first inkling of what was to become total decade dominance from the pop singer, with platinum sellers, record breaking album sales, Grammy awards and much more just months away.
