Binaural Brainwave Activity – Automated Meditation
The rewards of meditation and binaural brainwave activity reads like a list that continues to grow even as you are reading it. As the mind & body connection becomes more documented every passing year, the list shows no signs of slowing down. This comes as no surprise to mystics and yogis, who have discussed the benefits of meditating for thousands of years. However, it was not until the late 1970s when Western scientists started confirming many of their claims.
The following represent a partial listing of documented benefits of meditation: lower blood pressure, reduction of stress, depression and anxiety, mood enhancement, sleep improvement, overall improvement in health and vitality, relief from pain, immune system boost, increased focus, help with compulsive behavior, as well as addictions, increased intelligence, more creativity, help in developing positive habits, relationship improvement, emotional maturity and growth, reduced cholesterol, brain synchronization, improved memory, increased productivity, increased ability to relax, and hormonal balance.
Meditation is the act of allowing your mind to relax by putting your focus upon one thing, for instance, the breaths you are taking. This is a vacation for your mind, away from the outside stimuli you usually have going, or the internal dialogue that is part of the human condition. You might be in denial or actually unaware of this dialogue, due to the total bombardment of television, radio, texting, mp3 players, the internet, cell phone calls and live conversations you are having.
It is during the rare moments when you allow yourself some total peace & quiet that you will notice that nonstop internal dialogue taking place. This is what gets in the way of meditation, causing so many people to quit trying to learn to meditate. They can hardly believe how undisciplined their minds are.
There is great news for everybody who would love to gain the benefits of meditating but without first developing the patience and discipline to shut down that internal dialogue. Technology can create meditative brainwave patterns for you. Tibetan monks who do nothing but meditate, have been studied by scientists who monitored their brainwaves. The brain patterns they produce are truly astounding.
There is other research which is equally amazing. It is been proven that when a non meditator is given a soundtrack of binaural beats, and listens to them with headphones, they will soon start producing brainwave patterns that are very much like the Tibetan monks, who took 30 years of 16 hours a day practice to achieve them.
Binaural beats are sometimes called, apparent sounds. This is because they do not exist on their own, but are created by playing two slightly different tones, one into each ear. The brain will only hear one tone, but there will be beats, or clicks present, that are equal to the difference in the frequencies of the 2 tones. The brain will then entrain, or follow these frequencies, by changing the brainwave patterns to the frequency of the beats. This is called, binaural brainwave activity. It allows researchers to create soundtracks that enable anybody to achieve meditative states of mind, similar to the Tibetan monks.
