Army Weapons the Human Brilliance
The defense of every country is with the armed forces divided into The Army, The Air Force and The Navy. The backbone of these forces are the weapons they posses. The Army is manned by soldiers and officers who are equipped with side arms like revolvers and an assault rifle or automatic machine gun. They are also equipped with several layers of bulletproof clothing.
The standard army side arms is the M9 9mm Beretta Pistol which is comparatively lighter then the older versions of pistols and is deadly with unmatched accuracy at close range. The most famous assault rifle is the Russian made AK 47 originally used by the soviet army and now used by many armies across the globe. It has also found its way to several terrorist groups who use it with deadly consequences.
While there are several weapons of the similar type manufactured and used by many countries, the AK 47 is almost a household name thanks mainly to the terrorists and armed insurgencies around the world. This assault rifle is lethal in its precision, its all weather use and extremely portable, comfortable and cost effective. Created by the famous Russian Mikhail Kalashnikov and is named after him and the 1947 model.
Fully automatic machine guns are also used by the soldiers according to the situations and terrain they operate. The fully automatic machine guns are bigger than the AK 47’s and generally fired from fixed positions mounted on a tripod or on an army vehicle. These machine guns can be classified into light, medium and heavy.
No army can operate without a main battle tank, which is a heavily armored vehicle capable of moving in any terrain. It has a main gun with an awesome firepower; it could rotate 360 degrees and fire from any angle. During World War 2 the Russian T – 34 proved its versatility and contributed to many a victory. Tanks do not operate alone, they have many strategic formations, supported by the infantry in other armored vehicles and air support have fashioned many a famous battle victories. These monstrous machines form the main thrust of an army.
Some of the famous modern tanks are M1 Abrams a US product used extensively in the Iraq conflict as also the British Challenger 2 tanks. The Soviet T – 34 to 85 medium tanks with 85 mm guns, T – 90 tanks, the American M26 Pershing tanks, the German Panzer tanks, the Chinese Type 59 to 99 tanks and the Arjun MBT an Indian tank. These tanks are equipped with the most advanced communication systems.
Field artillery is an inseparable part of any army, which is mobile and can be shifted to any location as per the military strategies. These guns can be used for short range and long-range targets to strike with precision, power and speed. The modern field guns can target objects or formation several kilometers away. There are specialized field guns that can be used in different terrains with lethal precision.
In modern warfare, unmanned drones are also used to telling effect, while the sophisticated weapon systems determine the class and might of an army it is very important to recognize that it is the man behind the machines that matter and victory or defeat finally rests on the shoulders of the human mind that controls the weaponry.
