Learn How to Be a Successful MLM Mom
If you are already running a household with kids then you know how to be organized. But do you know how to balance your business with your family? Here are a few strategies that will help make you a top MLM mom.
First of all, make time exclusively to work your business. If you were working for another, you would certainly show up on time every day to work. If you didn’t, you would not have the job for very long. Since the goal here is to insure you have the freedom to choose your hours, you must show some dicipline. You will have the flexibility to choose your time to work everyday, but the key word here is work. Think about your work time as time invested for the big payoff down the road. If you are going to take time away from the most important people in your life, make it count. Have a set amount of time daily to devote to building your business and do just that.
Eliminate distractions while you are working. Have a specific place for working away from the noise and activity of the family. This is crucial to get you into the mindset that your work is a business and your business is important. If you have the space for a home office, great. If not, at least isolate yourself in a quiet spot while working. If your only quiet time is when the kids are napping or in bed, then make that your productive time. Many moms have educated themselves and built businesses while their children were napping or in school.
I would like this point added as a side to ridding yourself of distractions. You must insist that the other family members respect your work and treat your working time as sacred. Nothing will kill your enthusiasm and business faster than everyone interrupting you while you are trying to work. Not getting respect from other members of the family can cause a lot of unnecessary stress and discord that can be avoided if you make your needs known right up front.
While we are talking about respecting your work, remember to treat your business seriously yourself. When someone asks about your business, do you tell them you are an affiliate for (fill in the blank)? Or do you tell them that you are building your business so you and your partners can continue to have the freedom and independence you desire? Be passionate about your business. No one is going to get on board your team if the leader is not dedicated and enthusiastic about the business. If you can not be animated and passionate about your current company, then maybe you need to find a new company to represent.
It is not easy to build a business while factoring in raising children and running a household. With a little planning, organization, and cooperation from the other family members, you will find that you too can be a super productive MLM mom.
