How to Overcome the Fear of Prospecting Leads in Your Network Marketing Business

Man when I first started out in network marketing I had to work really hard to overcome the fear of prospecting leads. Everyone I asked for help gave me suggestions but at first nothing seemed to work. Here is what I did to overcome the fear on prospecting leads in my network marketing business.

The first thing I did was become a product of the product. Meaning I started doing my upline and company asked me to do. I used the products of my business and actually gained confidence in what I was marketing.

So after gaining this confidence in my business and the products I stopped asking people for their business. When I was prospecting for leads, deep inside I knew they had a need for what I had. So now I was coming from a position of strength rather than a position of weakness.

Also with this new confidence in my network marketing business I started to understand I was CONTROL. I had the SOLUTION to my prospect’s most glaring need. Most people when they get started in network marketing need to make some extra money or they wanted to change careers!

To overcome the fear of prospecting leads for my mlm business I changed my mindset. See I didn’t need them. They needed me. I had all the goods so why would I have this fear of prospecting.

With this new attitude I started talking to more and more people. After all why wouldn’t they want to talk to me. I had they wanted.

I also kind of changed my approach. When I started I was so desperate and so nervous I was trying to sell people. Know I am qualifying people. I ask questions to see if they are the right kind of people to be in MY business.

In every network marketing business you have to take the time and train your prospects. So if I was going to take any of my precious time and train someone then they had better be qualified to be in my business.

So now I ask questions. I am genuinely interested in them as people. I want to find out why they want to go into business for themselves. Or why do they need to make extra money. I ask questions trying to find their hot buttons.

By finding what they actually are looking for or what they are trying to accomplish by getting involved with a muli-level marketing business gives me an advantage. I don’t have to sell anymore. All I have to do is share my business with them. If it is not for them then they are not right for my business.

When I talk about sharing my business I am actually talking about the benefits of being in a network marketing business. The benefits of being in business for themselves may be making more money, possibly being able to spend more time at home with their family, being able to buy the house of their dreams, or maybe even finding financial freedom where they never have to worry about money again.

By becoming a product of the product and gaining confidence in myself and my business I started becoming a leader in my industry. My prospects start to take notice that I am a successful person and even though they want to know about the company and the products. They really want to follow a leader. They want to know you have the goods to take them where they want to go. They will join you if they believe you are the right person to help them achieve the success they are looking for.

These are a few ideas on how to overcome the fear of prospecting leads for your network marketing business. Do what you need to do to gain confidence in yourself and your company and become the leader to the people you are prospecting.
