Moved in a New House? Throw a Housewarming Party

It might feel as if it was ages since you were planning to have a house of your own. Looking through samples of factory homes and green modular homes, you finally chose one for yourself and got it made. Now that you have moved in, you need to throw a party so that everyone else can join you as you celebrate.

Before planning one, make sure you are able to take the responsibility. Hosting a housewarming party is not going to be a very easy task. It is a good idea to have a helping hand. This way you can divide all the tasks among you and the rest, and things would preferably be easier to handle.

At first, it is the budget that needs attention. Your budget will decide how extravagant you can be while planning. A helpful tip is to keep a moderate budget. You have moved in a new house, and there are going to be newer expenses that you are not aware of at present.

Next, it is about the kind of party you are going to hold. A themed event is a great idea, but only practical if you have a high budget. Instead, you might be interested in holding an informal outdoor barbecue, or a formal in-house dinner. Whatever option you choose, make sure you are not going over budget.

A to-do list is the most essential thing that you need to have. Planning the event will involve many tasks and there is a high chance that you forget some. Therefore, to avoid panic on the eleventh- hour, note down all the tasks on a sheet of paper.

You can also form groups among your family or friends who are willing to provide you help in arranging the party. Make teams and assign different tasks. This will lessen your burden.

The next important thing is the food menu. Again, this should be decided depending on the budget and the kind of party you have chosen to host. A good idea is to hire a caterer. This way, you will save yourself from the panic of cooking for a large number of guests. Besides, they will have professional chefs so you do not have to worry about the food.

If you are holding an informal event, games will be excellent party fillers. Assign a group of people who will take care of these activities.

Lastly, there are the invitations that you have to give out. You can invite people verbally if you have already spent a lot on other arrangements. And, if you are still under budget, you may wish to buy or make invitations for the event.

Be clear in describing the address of your house. Moreover, include your cell number on the invitation cards.

Take a last look at all the arrangements as you await the guests. Finally, when they arrive, greet each of them with a warm smile. When everybody is leaving, do not forget to give them the “Thank you” notes. Defining your appreciation to them for attending the party is a good act of courtesy.
