Successful Event Planning

Planning an event seems like a nightmare come true. I should know I am currently in the middle of event planning for a wedding and losing the will to live very fast as there are too many considerations to make and too chefs to say the least. I am only at the stage of looking for a venue and having trouble already. Unfortunately venues are not the easiest thing to deal with as all venues seem to have some sort of strange pricing structure going on i.e. you can hire a venue for 6 hours then a ridiculously stupid charge per hour afterwards. It seems a lot of venues simply won’t just price on a full package for a wedding.

On top of that each venue of course has its own offerings within their individual packages so some will include staff and some will include some drinks so you have to decide which is the stronger package for yourself and your event. Chances are that maybe you have your own caterers or possibly be able to provide your own drink at a cheaper rate, which then means you have to dig deeper for that venue as it becomes even harder to find. The problem with this kind of situation is that a lot of venues may not allow you to provide your own drinks or catering as they feel this eats down on their own profit margins which are understandable in some ways.

So let’s take it now that you have found your venue, you now have to deal with everything else that come with it (obviously there is a prerequisite here that you have arranged the date). Now you have to deal with invites, catering, bar arrangements and what could possibly be seems the hardest part, which is the decor of the venue as experience tells me that most venues will only give you tables, chairs and linen cloths at most. As above event planning is very difficult and requires serious time and effort outside your normal daily duties which is not easy especially in these difficult times with finances being a large problem for everyone.

Considering all the above there is another consideration available for you to make and that is to hand over all these responsibilities to an event planner. An event planner will handle everything from decor, catering, staff to ensuring everything runs on time on the day of the event itself. An event management company will sit and plan with you months in advance, everything they can provide you with from how many staff they provide to the different types of menus they can offer you.

Remember these people handle all sorts of events from corporate events to wedding parties on a daily basis and have great amounts of experience, contacts and different ideas that could make your event that one special thing to remember. Bear in mind going down this route will make things easier on yourselves and may put up the cost a little however this is something you may just have to budget for.
