Fast Weight Loss Diets That Really Work

These days it seems like everyone is looking for fast weight loss diets that really work. Some people want to do it so they will look great on a date or at their family or high school reunion. They might try a dangerous fad diet that will make them lose a lot of weight, but guess what? That weight isn’t going to stay off.

Why? Because those type of fast weight loss diets are too restrictive and no one can keep them up for long. But don’t despair, as there are actual fast weight loss diets that will work to help you keep the weight off and aren’t dangerous to your system the way that fad diets do.

Here are a few of these fast weight loss diets:

Scarsdale Diet

This well-known fast weight loss diet came about way back in the 1970s. It is a pretty strict low calorie diet that doesn’t allow any substitutions. It involves eating meals of 43 percent protein, 22.5 percent fats, and 34.5 percent carbs. Studies have been done that demonstrate that if someone follows this diet correctly, they can lose up to 20 pounds in a two week timeframe. You can only use it for two weeks also, and it’s not recommended to use it longer.

You can only eat the meal plan food, plus snacks like carrots, celery, broth, water, tea, sugar free drinks, diet soda, coffee, and use lemon or vinegar for dressing. You can eat lots of veggies, and some lean meats, but no butter, margarine or fats. For example, breakfast for the whole two weeks is half a grapefruit, on slice of bread and plain coffee or tea.

Then, lunch might be something like cold cuts, or tuna, lettuce, tomato and cucumber salad, and coffee. And dinner would be something like fish, salad, one piece of bread and some plain tea.

Hollywood Diet

Another fast weight loss diet is the Hollywood Diet. It too is a fad diet that you can’t stay on for long or risk some health issues. It’s basically a liquid type diet where you drink eight ounces of a special drink that is made of four ounces of water and four ounces of the Hollywood Diet juice mixed together.

You drink this four times a day every four hours for two days. You also have to drink eight ounces of plain water four times a day. The juice is made of water, fructose, green tea, pineapple, orange, prune, grape and lemon if you buy the commercial type or you can make your own with soy milk, orange cranberry juice, yogurt, wheat germ, and flaxseed oil.

This diet is only used for two days and cleans out the body, but is really only good for losing a couple of pounds so you can fit into a special dress or otherwise need a fast and small weight loss. It is only 400 calories a day, which isn’t good for anyone to do long term.

Vegetable Diet

A much safer fast weight loss diet is the vegetable diet. It’s all natural and won’t work as fast as the previous one, but is better for you. All you eat is organic veggies and fruits, plus your protein comes from just beans like lima and pinto, no meats are allowed.
