Hotel Restroom Design

Commercial bathroom supplies for hotel restroom design must feature higher grade aesthetics than fixtures used in many other industries. Everyone who visits the hotel is going to visit the restroom and walk away with a very strong impression of the establishment based upon what they encounter. This is true in every industry, but it is perhaps most true in restaurants and hotels where heavy traffic guarantees that every person entering the building is going to see the interior of the bathroom. Regardless of whether or not they should judge the establishment on the basis of restroom quality, they do. People tend to think that a hotel that invests a great deal of money in a clean, well-decorated restroom as more conscientious than one that doesn’t.

In addition to looking attractive, commercial bathroom partitions for hotel restroom design must be able to withstand the heavy traffic common to all hotels. The many visitors who pass through the doors are not always guests who are staying at the hotel. Many attend conventions in conference rooms and are only in the building for a few hours. Sometimes people just stop and ask to use the restroom, and these people could be from any conceivable walk of life. It is important that partitions be able to withstand the abuse of all the heavy usage that they will no doubt face over a long period of time.

Commercial lavatories for hotel restroom design should be able to service multiple users without wasting water. These lavatories go far beyond the sinks we saw in hotels back in the 70s and 80s. They are multiple faucet units that are designed to conserve the flow of water. Many are infrared sensor controlled. This touch free functionality is far more sanitary than sink faucets with handles, and it is better for energy conservation. Sensor controls can tell if a person is playing with the faucet or seriously trying to wash his or her hands. They can also shut the water flow off no later than 45 seconds after being triggered. Practically all lavatories also have a flow control meter to see to it that only the water that is needed is used.

Like partitions, commercial lavatories for hotel restroom design should also feature a noticeably higher aesthetic. The most popular lavatories in recent years have been those made from Terreon®. This substance is extremely hard, and it looks like stone. However, it is not any type of stone, but rather an artificial material that can easily be mass produced for high end applications.

Terreon sinks have evolved the highest level of practical sophistication in restroom design applications. They are vandal resistant, and they will last for years, if not decades. Their chic, deep bowl designs are not just for looks. They are skillfully engineered to contain water within the lavatory to prevent spillage onto the floor. This makes it more difficult for children in the restroom to play games with water than can lead to slip hazards around the sink area. It also makes it far more cost effective to clean the restroom.

Hand dryers are now being included in all the new hotel restroom designs. This is not to say that all hotels are ready to give up paper towels completely. Many guests still prefer them. However, hotels understand the cost effectiveness of getting rid of paper towels. Hotel chains that are interested in helping the environment also do this to pursue a more green building status.
