Importance of Child Car Seats

Before our child is even born, we want what’s best for them. With a healthy diet, pregnancy limitations, and preparing for their arrival, we can help keep our baby safe and happy before they even get here. Once they do come, it is very important to have a certain item – and that’s a car seat.

A car seat is the one item you may not go without. In fact, you may not even leave the hospital without a car seat in your vehicle, and one that’s properly installed. Car seats are very important for a number of reasons. Need some reasons to realize how important they are to have? Continue reading below.

To leave the hospital: As mentioned above, you must have a car seat before you leave the hospital. More than likely someone will wheel the mother out with the baby, and they will see that you put your baby in their car seat.

Keep in mind that a baby must be rear-facing until they’ve reached both one year of age and 20 lbs.! It’s best to keep them rear-facing for as long as possible so that they have time to develop their neck muscles and strength!

To follow the law: As you may already know, it’s the law that you must have a car seat for each child you have riding in the car. Due to your child’s height and weight, they will vary for car seats. So, find out which type of car seat your child needs, make sure they meet the requirements, and make sure it’s installed properly.

If you don’t have car seat for your child, you may face jail time, fines, and receive traffic violations, all while endangering your baby.

To keep them safe: In order for you to keep your child safe, you must have a car seat. It must also be installed properly. If you’re ever unsure that your child’s seat isn’t correctly installed, take time to go to the local police station or fire department to get it looked over.

To avoid injury: If you don’t have a car seat for your child, they are very prone to injury. Since a baby can’t even hold their head up, or even sit up by themselves right away, they have no sense of balance and will be thrown around in the vehicle. Accidents are called accidents for a reason, and they are usually caught off guard. So, don’t ever take the chance of endangering your child by not supplying them with a car seat.

As you can see, there are several reasons to have a car seat for your child. Since it’s the law, you can’t bring them home until they have one, and because they could be severely injured or even be susceptible to a fatal accident, it should be more than a priority to get this installed.

Make sure you install this car seat a few weeks or even months before your due date. Babies don’t always come on time, so it’s important that you’re ready when they’re ready!
