A lot of little girls grow up dreaming about their wedding day and finding the perfect bridal dress. Imagining yourself walking down the aisle in a beautiful gown, holding a fantastic bouquet of flowers while the man of your dreams waits for you at the altar is a daydream that might have been replayed over and over throughout your life. When that time comes to actually shop for bridal dresses, however, the choices can be overwhelming. There are so many styles and designs to choose from that one can be left feeling in over their heads. So how do you sift through the bridal dresses on hand to find the one that is perfect for you? And how do you know the perfect bridal dress when you see it?

Your wedding day will be one of the most important days in your life and therefore your bridal dress should be memorable. Think of it as the icing on the cake. Timeless, beautiful bridal dresses will be just as lovely ten years down the road as it is now. That is not to say that it cannot be fashionable, however. The right dress is timeless and classic and complements you-not overwhelm you. When you are choosing your bridal dress, there are many things to consider: season, weather, facility, style, design, and comfort. If you are getting married in the winter, for instance, then you might want to stay away from sheer fabrics or sleeveless bridal dresses unless the facility that you are having your ceremony in is well-heated. You could also consider a shrug or a shawl as well.

The design of the facility might also have an effect on your choice, too. An elegant ballroom might certainly call for a ball gown style bridal dress, while a simple church ceremony might warrant something less ornate. An outdoor wedding in intense heat will probably warrant something a little more on the simple side with less fabric. After all, you do not want to wilt at the altar once you arrive. Style and design should be all about you, though. There are many gorgeous simply designed bridal dresses that can look fabulous regardless as to what the season is. On the other hand, you might prefer something that has lots of lace, organza, beading, and additional adornments.

Lastly, do not forget about comfort. Although that might be the last thing on your mind, a wedding dress does not have to be terribly uncomfortable in order for it to look great on you. Think about the fact that you will be walking around in a lot, dancing in it, sitting in it, and eating in it. Of course, you can always change for the reception, too, and then you benefit from the experience of being able to wear two fabulous dresses!

Just remember that this is the day when all eyes will be on you and you will be the belle of the ball. Do not settle for something less than what you truly desire. Your wedding day should be a mixture of glamour and beauty, with you as the magical centerpiece. Your dress should not distract from you, but simply add to your glow.
