How to Perform Breast Massage?
Breast massage is fast gaining its popularity due to the increasing percentage of women suffering from breast cancer and other breast related conditions. It is a form of therapeutic massage that uses light strokes to enhance the growth, health, and shape of the breasts as well as in giving it a much firmer appearance.
Massage spas, health centers and clinics offer this type of service to the public as a therapeutic massage type for treating various conditions of the breasts. It is quite popular among women especially in the age of 30 to 40 where breast cancer is quite common. However, due to the fact that the breasts are private areas of a woman and that they are sensitive to the touch; many women are hesitant on having breast massage therapy sessions. Discomfort may arise during the therapy session especially if the patient is not comfortable with the massage therapist regardless of the fact that the therapist is a woman.
Breast massage can be conducted at home and is easily taught to almost any woman who wishes to learn this therapy. Before starting your home massage therapy session, you will need the following:
-Private place – due to the need of baring your breasts for the convenience of your massage therapy, you will need to have a secluded area inside your house. Make sure that you are comfortable with the place and that the temperature in that room is quite warm and relaxing.
– Lubricants – in order to avoid discomfort and friction on the skin, apply either lotion, cream or massage oil all over the breasts and make sure that they are fully covered. This also helps you to prevent the application of extra pressure due to the lack of lubricant.
– Standard Chair or Bed – although you can do the therapy while you are standing, lying down on your bed or sitting down on a chair can be more comfortable and soothing during the length of your massage session.
Here is a simple step on how to do a massage therapy on your breasts anywhere you want as long as it is in a private room:
– Massage from the nipples going outward with the lightest pressure to avoid pressing the lymphatic vessel. The strokes should be done in a slow motion for it to be effective and soothing.
– Work on the breasts in a kneading motion by lifting and pressing gently with your hands. Make sure that you don’t press firmly to avoid damaging the tissues around the breast area.
– Twist the breasts in a gentle manner starting in a clockwise direction and then ending with a counter clockwise movement.
– Use light strokes from the center of the breasts going outwards to the side. Make sure that you maintain slow strokes during the therapy as this movement is more effective than when using fast strokes which are also harmful as they have a higher risk of damaging the tissues of the breasts when done improperly and in haste.
