The Pros and Cons of Natural and Synthetic Pest Control

There are plenty of ways to get rid of bugs and other problems in your home. Some offer a natural solution that is safe for those living in your house, but might not be as strong as synthetic solutions. A pest repeller needs to offer both safety and effectiveness to be a consideration. A sonic pest repeller is a great solution because there is no need to worry about dangerous chemicals that can cause harm to your pets and family. This option emits a sound that only rodents and bugs are able to hear. You will have no idea it is working, but it will drive the problem away without the use of chemicals, solutions or ineffective methods of treating the the problem. If your are trying to decide between two different methods of dealing with bugs and rodents, there are a few things to consider.

One of the main complaints from people who use natural solutions is that they are not always as effective as synthetic methods. If you are going to go to the effort of buying and using a treatmetn to rid your home of bugs or rodents, it is important that it work. You do not want to have to repeat the treatment a few weeks down the line because the problem has not gone away. This is why a non-solution method is effective. However, if you choose to apply a solution, make sure you get something that is going to work the first time through, so you are not wasting time and money on controlling the problem.

Another consideration is where you put the product. If you have a non-solution method, you might want to avoid putting it in places where your pet normally sleeps. Though domestic animals are not supposed to be sensitive to the sounds transmitted, some are and it will affect their comfort. Try placing the devices in the basement or attic. If you are using a spray, make sure it is applied away from places where you and your pet eat. Even if it is natural and safe, you do not need to be eating it.

Children’s playing and sleeping areas are another important consideration. Unless the problem is centered in that area, avoid treating it as best you can. The treatment applied in other parts of your home should carry and treat the playing and sleeping areas, as well. If there is a problem in this area, consider using a natural remedy, even if you choose something else in the rest of the home. If you choose to install a repelling device, there should be no problem putting it in the play area.

Finally, consider how serious the problem is before determining your treatment. If you are just coping with a few garden bugs you want to drive away, choose a simple, natural method. If your home is infested with something dangerous, then a more serious solution might be necessary. Try to use synthetic applications only in dire situations when the risk is worth the reward.
