Heartbroken men around the world are full of despair thinking that “the one” got away. Either they did something to blow it, or they were perfect boyfriends and the girl just upped and left them for no discernable reason.

Well, I’ve got news for you – there is no such thing as “the one” That’s right. You read that correctly.

However, I do believe there may be “one of several” out there. I’m not heartless or too pragmatic. I’m a romantic type of guy and I do believe in soul mates. I just don’t think that there is only one of them.

I believe that there are many soul mates out there just waiting for us to connect. So, if you were lucky enough to already have met a soul mate and discovered for whatever reason that it just wasn’t working out, please don’t despair, there are many more out there.

Most guys make a mistake when they meet a soul mate. They place the woman on a pedestal and believe that she is the only girl in the entire world that is perfect for them. This is a crock. When you do this, you place unreasonable expectations, not only on the girl, but also on the relationship itself. You have already started the downward spiral toward disaster for that relationship.

It’s all about adopting an attitude of abundance.

Remember this: there are millions of girls out there you can date.

Looking at it from a purely, logical and scientific point of few means that the odds of finding someone who has a lot in common with you is pretty good when you are looking at a million or more women to choose from.

Sure, it might take a little bit of work to meet these women, but you are not some random rat in a maze. You have the ability to narrow the field based on what you are looking for in a woman.

On the most base level, this would mean that if you are looking for a wife, you probably aren’t going to pick up the girl at the strip club for that future role. Chances are you are going to look for a girl you want to marry somewhere else – in a place that demonstrates your values. (I’m not saying your future wife can’t work at a strip club, just that it is probably not the place you are going to meet her.) For instance, if you are religious, you might try to meet women at church. If you are really into hiking, you might look for women at hiking stores or on the mountains or at climbing gyms.

That’s the beauty of social media, as well. We now have a chance to narrow down the field before we even meet in person or leave our apartment.

The point is, that even when you think you have met Mrs. Wonderful or The One or your Dream Girl, don’t get too excited, and forget everything else in your life. Take it slow. Let time tell whether she’s the one. And if she’s not, there are millions of other fish in the sea.
