Chores For Kids of Different Ages
There are chores that we can give to our children which are appropriate for their age. Not all kids are the same that is why as a parent, we must be keen enough to identify their needs and address them properly. Every child is unique in his own way. The first person that should know that is the mother. Mostly, it is the mothers who have the privilege to see their children grow and the changes they exhibit. That is why they are the ones who are privileged to care for their child. In giving chores to children, we must first know what activities we can give according to what age they belong.
For little kids aged three to four years, they can do the works that are less complicated for them to really follow the things you want them to do. Such activities are dusting dirt from their playground, arranging table napkins and helping in cleaning after their toys would be great too. This could help them have the thought that they are responsible for something.
For preschool ages four to seven years, they can now feed pets with ease, setting up the table, and most specially making up their own beds. At this age children have a better grasp of responsibility that is why they must be oriented as early as possible for the things they should do for themselves. In this age group, you can employ newer tasks and more complicated one for them to complete.
School-age children have initiative already. So, you have to add complex instructions to their work now to develop both their mental and physical skill. For example cleaning the table, you might add something delicate like cleaning in with one direction only or starting from that point to another. Second example is making their bed. You can now employ the different ways in bed-making, the one that they teach in academics.
For teens, you can now teach them formal work for them to know how to live on their own. You can teach them some of your favorite delicacies that your whole family will enjoy. Activities that they can use for the future like washing laundries or anything will be very helpful for them.
After knowing some of the age-appropriate tasks that you can give to your children, there\’s one more thing we need to do. There are things that we should provide them so they will enjoy and make the most out of their experience.
For younger children like preschool and school age, you can provide them a working area which they can exclusively do their task in a controlled environment. You can buy them kids rug and kids furniture that are both available in the market near you or online. Kids rug can add color to their task and keep the sense of playtime and will act lively whenever they are in it. Kids furniture, on the other hand, can let your children organize their things and make their room look neater.
