Drafting and What it Entails
In any form of writing, drafting is an essential process. This is usually done towards the end of the process. The assumption here is that one has gathered all the necessary information that he or she needs to do the writing.
Before people do this work, they should make sure that they have all the adequate information needed for carrying out the process and that they have a clear understanding of the topic they want to write on. It is an essential process if one wants whatever he or she is writing to be as near to perfect as possible. There are several dos and don\’ts when it comes to drafting.
The most important elements while doing this concern time and the place where the thought will be collected. As a rule of the thumb, it is important to allocate enough time to the collection of the information. Procrastinating only leads to doing things in the last minute and this almost always leads to poor results. Also, the room where this should be done should be quiet and away from any distractions.
In the process, one will need neither an introduction nor a title. These are things that can be done while doing the writing proper. Also, another element that is needed while doing proper writing but is not needed while drafting is the writing of references. These can be introduced at the end of the paper after one has written it in full.
Another unnecessary thing that many people do at this stage is editing. This is totally unnecessary. Correction of such things as spelling mistakes and grammar can be done while one is writing the project or paper in full. This stage is only a stage where one gets a rough idea of how the final paper will be.
After taking care of all the above details, one can now get down to writing the paper. The first paragraph is one where the writer aims at introducing the topic and telling in brief what shall be discussed in the paper. It is important for one to keep his or her target audience in mind while doing this.
In the rest of the body, one should get down to writing the key points that shall be discussed in each of those paragraphs. The transition should be smooth such that one can see the flow from one point to another without there being any ambiguity. This is essential for any form of writing.
Although this is going to be just Drafting, it is important to also include the conclusion. This paragraph serves as a summary to all the information that has been listed in the body. This can be done by paraphrasing or listing the main points that were in the introductory paragraph. In this paragraph, it is possible for one to express his or her own opinions on the topic discussed in this concluding paragraph. In this paragraph, one should try and sum up all that has been said in the main body.
