Is Neuromuscular Integrative Action Safe?
Physical workout programs are commonly used as part of healing, restorative, and preventive process in a massage therapy due to its valuable contribution in providing much efficacy and cohesive support to the whole treatment. There are quite a few therapeutic massage techniques that incorporate exercise with the healing hands-on techniques of the therapy.
Neuromuscular Interactive Action also known for the acronym NIA, is a total body workout program that combines essential techniques from yoga, martial arts, tai chi, and ethnic dance to create a natural treatment that can deal with various health problems and at the same time maintain an attractive figure and a good cardiovascular condition.
NIA is a group oriented therapy that is usually done with more than 2 people at the same time to increase a sense of wellness, discipline, and self-awareness. It is commonly done with 10 or more people in a serene and healthy environment without any distraction that could break the momentum and focus during the therapy session. The therapy does not require any massage equipment such as tables, beds, oils, lotions, creams, and moisturizers as it is done in a simple step-by-step fashion. The therapy is capable of healing the body, mind, emotion, and spirit of the client or student in order to free the whole body from any bondage of health issues.
During the therapy session, the instructor will guide the clients or students on what to do for the most part of the treatment. There are a series of fifty-two corrective movements that can enhance the structure, range of motion, flexibility, and integrity of the human body. The main goal of the therapy is to provide a healing exercise that will keep the body in shape while allowing it to trigger its self-healing abilities during the course of the therapy which will help the recovery process of the body. Most of the methods used during the therapy session are pain-free, which is a good indicator that the therapy is safe and does not provide threat to the physical body. The workout process should be done in such a way that it will not cause any painful experiences to the student who is doing the exercise.
In general, the therapy is safe both as an exercise regime and as a treatment that leaves tons of great effects and health benefits to the client after each session. In addition to that, due to the fact that the therapy was born out of the discipline and practice of martial arts, a series of belts are being distributed to the students based on the level of their performance and learning of the healing art. Each of the belts has their corresponding teachings from basic movement and exercise programs to the more complicated ones. These are composed of white, green, blue, brown, and black belts that signify that the students have their earned abilities and skills. At the end of each level, the student is awarded and promoted to the next level thus achieving a higher rank among the other clients.
