Houston Best 3 Entertainment Spots Without Video Games
I think if entertainment spots around the city really wanted to do some unique Houston nightlife marketing, that they would take into consideration highlighting spots where you can have fun without the presence of video games. It seems to me that in a lot of bars and clubs lately that they are full of video game machines for people to play. Personally, I would rather go to a spot without any of the machines there.
Isn’t the whole point of going out to get away from playing video games? At least that’s the way I view it with a lot of my friends. They get so caught up in all of the video games and role-playing games on their computers and game consoles that they don’t know how to interact with the real world anymore. I am pretty sure if I didn’t make them go out once in a while that they would burn up when they went out in the sun.
One thing I don’t understand is these entertainment spots with video games. There are even entire theme restaurants based around playing video and arcade games. I went to one of these places once with my friends. It was louder in there than any of the dance clubs I had been in recently. The place was jammed with people at the games and around the bar, so I guess it works, but it’s not for me.
I would much rather enjoy some adult time at a dance club or bar where I don’t have to hear all of the explosions and everything else that goes along with the games today. Give me a live band to listen to instead at one of the local nightclubs and I am much happier. You can have a drink, relax and listen to the music.
The advantage of the dance club over these video games is obvious to me. Girls would much rather hang out with a guy who knows how to dance and is willing to dance than one who just wants to play a video game. Isn’t that part of the whole goal of going out as well when you are single? I don’t know why my friends don’t get it.
I would even rather just go to a bar that doesn’t have any of these games. They are just too much of a distraction to everyone else who is in there. I also think that the girls who see guys huddled around these games really don’t want anything to do with them because they see them as big kids.
So that’s my two cents on entertainment spots with and without video games. I would much rather see some Houston nightlife marketing of places that are fun, have great music, great food and great company. To me, it’s a hundred times better than spending the evening killing zombies.
