People always try to figure just what makes a great night out on the town. I guess it really depends on what you like to do most. For one of my friends (whose name I will not reveal to protect the not-so-innocent), his idea of the best time is to go out and see how close he can get to getting arrested. Okay, so maybe I need to choose a new group of friends, but I have to admit, even though it can be nerve-wracking wondering if we are going to wake up in a cell somewhere, when we need wild stuff to do in Houston, there are some fine entertainment spots where you don\’t have to work too hard to get arrested.

Now, let me make clear that I do not recommend that anybody go out with the intention of getting arrested. Somewhere in the back of your mind, I am sure you realize it is not a very good idea. Just keep in mind that my friend is not always thinking too clearly when he does these things and what may seem like a good idea when you have had a lot of tequila is not always so rosy when you wake up in the morning.

With that in mind, there are some places you can go that I can pretty much guarantee that if you are looking for trouble, you will certainly find it. One place we usually end up is some type of dive biker bar. I have nothing against bikers or dive bars myself. I have had many good times sipping cheap whiskey at a hole in the wall bar. However, when it starts to get later in the evening and everyone has had plenty to drink, things tend to get a little out of hand.

The odds seem pretty good that at some point here there will be a fight. Sometimes it is over a woman, sometimes it is over a game of pool and sometimes it is just for the sake of fighting. It could be something as simple as someone hogging the bowl of nuts on the bar to trip things off, and before you know it, the police are on their way.

If biker bars aren\’t your thing, there are plenty of other entertainment spots at night where you can get arrested. You\’d be surprised at how easy it is to draw enough attention to yourself to get the police to show up (just ask my friend). All it really takes is for someone to start taking clothes off at any type of club and all of a sudden, there are those sirens.

I have to say of all the stuff to do in Houston, getting arrested isn\’t really high on my list. I will say that whenever I go out with my friend, I make sure I have a little extra cash for bail money, a list of phone numbers of people to call, and comfortable clothes that I don\’t care if I get blood on them or not. It never hurts to be prepared you know.
