Far be it for me to say what is cool and fun to do. If you knew me personally, you would quickly figure out that I am no expert. One thing I do know a lot about, however, is finding interesting things to do in Houston. I\’m not just talking about doing interesting things for myself either. I have seen and done a lot of things and I have to say I even know what some of the great nightlife is for the biker crowd.

If you saw me out at a club or bar, you would realize I am the farthest thing from being part of the biker crowd. I am pretty sure they wouldn\’t even want me as part of the crowd to be honest. However, I have been lucky enough to experience what it is like to be in the biker crowd, even if it was just for a fleeting moment.

You see, I was pitching a business deal to this new client of ours at work. He seemed like a pretty straight-laced guy and was no-nonsense in all the meetings. Heck, I don\’t even think he cracked a smile once in the hours we met.

Once the deal was done and the work day was over, he invited me out for drinks to celebrate. I thought it would be a great idea and agreed. He told me to meet him out in front of the building and he would drive.

A few minutes later, I was standing out in front waiting for him when this big old Harley pulls up in front of the building. The rider was all dressed in black leather with his sleek helmet. You guessed it – it was my client. He tossed me his spare helmet and before I knew it, we were off.

I was never so scared in all my life. It took a bit, but we arrived at this remote nightlife spot with lots of bikes lined up out in front. I was fully expecting the place to be filled with a rough crowd, rowdy music and maybe some fighting. For the most part, I never saw any of that.

Most of these bikers were pretty refined guys – doctors, lawyers, salesmen. It was almost as if they had created this biker oasis just for them, away from what most people would think of as a biker bar. Sure, a lot of these guys had tattoos and drove big bikes, but there they were drinking craft beers, wine and sparkling water.

If you are looking for interesting things to do in Houston, this would certainly qualify as one of them. You\’ll never see anything else like it. Sure you can find plenty of your typical biker bars around if that\’s what you want. But if you want to say you spent the night at a biker bar without fearing you\’ll come home in one piece, you might want to look for someplace like this.
