I hadn\’t realized that this game was starting to become so popular again. I had played when I was in college, sure, but now you actually see places out at bars and clubs that are set up for it. If you fancy yourself something of an expert in the game, then check your Houston nightlife guide and see where there might be a good Beer Pong game going on for you to join.

Don\’t worry if you haven\’t played the game for a long time. It\’s pretty easy to pick up on right away. Besides, you are going to be drinking while you are playing. Just how good do think you are going to be after a while anyway?

I was surprised to see the number of places that have areas set aside for Beer Pong. As a matter of fact, I saw that there are tournaments that are held at different bars and clubs around the city. You can actually win some cash if you\’re good enough and can beat the competition.

My friends and I started practicing a few weeks ago at my buddy\’s garage. He set up the ping pong table he has and we played for a while. After about an hour or so we decided we were too old to be doing this anymore and just decided to drink instead of wasting our energy.

That was before we saw that one place was offering a five hundred dollar first prize. My best friend and I decided that we were the best players among our group and were going to practice hard to try and win. We trained for a couple of weeks and actually started to get pretty good. At least we thought we were getting good until we showed up for the tournament.

The place was packed full of teams who wanted to play. We finally got up there to play and were facing off against two girls who looked like they were still in college. The fact that they were attractive girls didn\’t help us any. They were really good players and good looking. Needless to say, they made short work of us and we were out of the tournament with nothing.

There are other tournaments at other clubs and some places make it into a pretty big deal. We entered one or two more places down the road but we never did well. It probably didn\’t help that it took so long to get to our game that we had already been drinking for hours by the time we got up there and couldn\’t see straight to begin with.

It was then that we realized these youngsters had spent a lot more time playing Beer Pong than we did and we retired. It\’s a young person\’s game now. You can check the Houston nightlife guide for places that have tournaments, but you won\’t find me there anymore. I\’ll stick to Skee-Ball.
