Children are enchanted with magic tricks. Just give them the easiest one on the book, and you\’ll have them all wide-eyed and amazed. But they will love you more if you give them these easy magic tricks that they can do themselves. This keeps them entertained and will even help them to be more confident. Here are some simple magic that you can teach your soon-to-be little entertainer.

Paper Switch

This is a very simple trick where you just have to sit at a table facing your audience. Get a piece of paper and rip off two pieces from it. Make it so that each is slightly larger than your fingernails. Tape a piece of paper on one fingernail on each hand and then tell your audience that you are going to let the paper disappear and then magically reappear. It is best to use your index and middle finger for this trip because they look almost alike.

You place two fingers with an attached paper on the table. Then one at a time put your hand behind your back. While doing this switch fingers quickly and place the one without any paper on it back on the table. Do the same thing with the other hand. Then announce to your audience that you will bring the paper back. Do the first step again and replace the finger without the paper to those with paper attached to it. Make sure to be quick about it, so that you don\’t give your audience enough time to scrutinize any slight change.

Pencil Magic

All you need is a pencil and a good hand for this trick. You actually just let optical illusion do the job. Take a normal pencil; hold it near the end preferably at the eraser tip. Then slowly wave it to make it look like its bending like rubber. The secret in making this trick work is in how you move your hand.

Paper Clip Magic

Take a dollar bill and fold it in three equal parts and then clip one end of the bill to the fold that is closest. Then clip the other end of the bill to the fold that is close to it. Make sure that the paper clip should be clipping only two pieces of the dollar bill. Then here is the tricky part, you just grab the ends of the dollar bill and pull it straight. You will have the two paper clips which are on opposite ends to magically attach to each other and get separated from the bill.

Disappearing Bead

This is an easy magic trick that can also look very impressive that will make the little one look like a pro. All it requires is a paper cup and bead. The bead is placed inside a cup and then has it “magically” disappear when you turn the cup over. Then when you reach inside the pocket, you then produce the bead. All you need for this trick is a cup and two beads. To prepare for this, you just take a cup then cut a small hole in the bottom so the bead can easily pass through. This, by the way, is the secret that will make this trick work. Also remember to place the other bead in your pocket. So what you do is to hold the cup with your hand along the bottom of the cup. Drop the bead into the cup and allow the object to fall through the hole so you end up secretly holding the bead on your hand. Turn the cup over, and you\’ll give the impression that the object disappears. Then reach into your pocket and bring out the second bead. It will appear as if it vanished and magically traveled to your pocket.

Saw the Lady in Half

This is a smaller version of the elaborate illusion where a magician mercilessly saw a lady volunteer in half. For this trick you don\’t need another person to volunteer, all you need is a paper, a pen, an envelope and some scissors. First you just seal the envelope and cut off the ends leaving you with a tubular piece of paper that is approximately four inches long. Now you have to flatten the tube and cut two slits on one side.

You separate the bottom part of the tube into three parts with the two slits. Slide the paper doll into the paper tube, and then slip the end of the doll through the first slit and out the back of the envelope. As you work the doll into the tube, you should slip it back into the tube through the second slit.

This is going to be tricky and is the crucial part for the trick to work. On one side it may appear as if you simply slid the paper doll inside the envelop as the head and feet part are showing out. This is when your magic show starts. You take a pair of scissors and cut under the envelop but above the paper doll. Believe me, it will look much simpler than it sounds. Once you\’re done, you take out the paper doll and hold the two pieces of envelope. The paper doll will look unharmed while you made it appear to have saw the poor doll in half.

Your little one may find this to be a bit challenging at first. But encourage them to practice until. They are able to make it appear seamless. This prevents them from fumbling and it also allows them to be confident with how to pull it off. Praise them when they get it right, and then tell them that a magician should never share their secrets.
