The Different Type of Grand Canyon Tours
Located in Northern Arizona, the Grand Canyon National Park is one of the best places to tour in the United States. The park was founded in 1919 and has been home to the famous Grand Canyon. It has also been considered as one of the main natural wonders found in the world, thus why it is always full of visitors who come to witness for themselves the unique combination of erosional forms and geological color. The national park has two main divisions; the North Rim, which is more remote, and the South Rim which is easily accessible. The Desert View is also highly visited as its Watchtower provides a good elevation for viewing the Colorado River and the park itself. Also at the South Rim is the Hermits Rest among many other viewpoints.
On the western side of the park is the Hualapai Indian Reservation. There are various tourist activities on this part of the park such as motorized rafting trips, and pontoon boat rides. These are done on the White Water and Lake Mead respectively.
Various Las Vegas tour operators have also partnered with the Hualapai tribe found in this area and set some entry charges for those coming to Grand Canyon West. You can therefore opt to book one of the many helicopter flights operating from the West Rim to the landing zones at the shores of Lake Mead. There are various things to see during the flight.
The Havasupai Indian Reservation on the southwest side of the park is also a favourite destination for many tourists. The remote area has a number of amazing waterfalls. Tour buses however stop at the Hualapai Hilltop and the remaining part of the journey to the canyon at Supai Village has to be by foot or air. Luckily, one can book for helicopter transportation from one of the tour companies operating in the area.
There are various means thorough which one can tour the area as there are various transport services offered by touring companies from Las Vegas, Tusayan, NV and AZ. You can therefore tour the area through an airplane, helicopter, bus, jeep, horse, mule ride or even by hiking. It is, however, advisable that one does early bookings since there are many tourists coming to this area.
During the summer months there are Whitewater rafting expeditions being offered. Through these one can experience the awe-inspiring beauty of the park. It is, however, important to note that most of the helicopter and Airplane tour providers can be found at the Las Vegas and Tusayan Airport.
