Data Capture and Stopping Time

Pictures are great ways of preserving memories. That is exactly why people make sure that for every special event they would have photos to remember the occasion by. It’s fun to see changes in the places around you and the people too. Photographs are great for reliving younger days. So imagine a person’s dismay if one day she/he finds some of these memories gone. It could be a heartbreaking moment, there could be tears. The bad thing is that, it happens to everybody.

Back in the days, people used films for printing pictures. They take a picture and bring the roll of film to a place where they print the images. So imagine how limiting the process is. For one, if you get a blurred shot there is no way to correct it. If somebody blinked it’s going to stay that way forever. If you accidentally covered the lens with your finger, the shot is going to be a black slab for the rest of its life. But [perhaps the worst case is losing or damaging the roll of film itself. If this happens, there is no way that you can ever have proof of the memories you have documented. That was before data capture was possible. People had to settle for hard copies of photos that fade, that get gnawed by rodents, that smear when spilled over with water. But times have changed. And with the passing of time the ability to store memories has reached its own set of technological advancements too.

Through the introduction of the scanner, people now have the capability to capture data. People take data capture lightly but if you truly scrutinize its role in the present world, you’ll realize how much it has changed everyone’s life. Like for the abovementioned example, memories are preserved through images. But when you do it the technological way, or through scanning, the image is transformed into a digital form that you can easily save in cyberspace where it can never get wet, never fade or never get chewed on by rats or your pets.

Data capture does more than provide an eternal storage for images. It also gives you a broader set of options on how you intend to utilize your data. Unlike having a roll of film, you have a copy of many pictures that you can alter any way you want before printing it. This is where the fun begins. You can now make wedding invitations, personalized birthday cards or any other customized cards using your raw pictures. You not only have a never fading copy of your memories, you can also share it with the people you care about while incorporating your own style in it. (Not to mention fixing blurs or red eyes and more)

Needless to say it seems as if data capture can help you stop time, not literally though. But having access to photographs that you know will always look like they were just taken yesterday is like never getting old. The colors remain vivid and your memory stays fresh as long as you have your pictures.
