Houston 5 Nightclub Bouncers to Avoid

One of the tricky parts about taking part in the entertainment night life that exists in the city is working your way around the doormen and bouncers that are at the clubs. For the most part, they are good guys who are just trying to do their job and they will actually give you some protection and peace of mind when you need it. Then there is the other side of the coin where they are concerned. There are some guys who maybe take their job a little too seriously and will never give guys like me a fair shake when it comes to getting into the club or not giving me a hard time because I am not a movie star. There are always a few bouncers to avoid when you are going out for the night.

As helpful as it might be for me to give you exact names and places where these guys are, I don’t want any of them coming after me if they happen to see me out somewhere, so I am only going to give you first names and a brief description of why I think you should avoid them, so I don’t end up with anything broken or bruised:

– Steve – Naturally, like with many bouncers, he is a big, burly guy who doesn’t seem to smile much. He smiled even less when I tried to make a joke to slip by him and he tossed me aside like I was nothing. Not the friendliest guy in the word, in my opinion.

– Bruno – You’ll know Bruno as soon as you see him. He has dark hair and is obviously Eastern European. He knows enough English though to sound like that gut from the Rocky movie when he says “I will break you.” I am pretty sure he means when he says it. Stay away from him.

– Lester – Lester looks like a nice guy, smiling and happy in his nice suit outside the door. You wouldn’t think he could move as fast as he does, especially when you hit on his girlfriend. My bad.

– Ivan – Another of my Eastern European friends. Rumor has it he is a former professional wrestler without a sense of humor. I can tell you both are true based on him putting a chicken wing on me and escorting me out the door.

– Edgar – At one of the finer clubs in the area, one thing about Edgar is don’t try to bribe him. He ate my twenty and promised to do something with it again later if I didn’t leave the line pronto.

I have come to the conclusion that if I see a bouncer when I am out checking out the entertainment night life that I am better off not talking to them at all. It just seems to get me into more trouble than it’s worth. I have all the bruises and scars to prove it.
