What is the Most Effective Way to Detoxify Your Body?

Your body is constantly exposed to harmful toxins. From the food you eat, to harmful fumes in the air, you are constantly ingesting or inhaling toxins. The human body works hard to eliminate toxins through fecal matter, urine and sweat. The organ responsible or ridding your body of harmful chemicals are your skin, kidney, liver and digestive system.

The more harmful chemicals you are exposed to, the harder your body has to work to remove them from your body. When the body is unsuccessful at thoroughly removing toxins, their presence messes with the natural balance of the body resulting in cell mutations that eventually lead to disease. This is the reason why regularly assisting your body to naturally remove toxins is very important.

The word detox is thrown around a lot these days. There are also a wide range of products in stores that claim to detoxify your body. I think the silliest product out there is the foot patch that is supposedly meant to draw out toxins from your body to your feet while you sleep.

These wonder products are only marketing ploys designed to make you part with your hard earned cash. You should instead aim to help your body do the job it is used to doing naturally.

Here are a few tips to set you off in the right direction;

Increase your fiber intake by eating more fruit and vegetables. Dried fruit like prunes, apricots, dates and figs are very high in fiber and will help make sure you have regular bowel movements. Green leafy vegetables and salad are also excellent fiber sources. Cutting down on processed foods will also help your digestive system perform to more efficiently. Try to avoid eating anything that doesn’t grow out of the ground. Why? Because the body doesn’t know what anything else is and generally struggles to process. This especially applies to red meat and dairy foods.

Drink a lot more water. If you increase your fiber intake then you must also increase your water intake. Aim to drink at least two liters of water a day and if possible do it by having regular drinks of water during the day. This should help your kidneys flush out toxins naturally in urine.

Last, but certainly not least important is to make yourself sweat. This can be achieved in a variety of ways. Working out, and sauna bathing are probably the most effective ways to make yourself perspire. During perspiration, the body is able to excrete even fat soluble toxins through sweat, a feat that can’t be achieved by merely drinking more water and fiber rich foods. In fact perspiration can be seen as a means of cleansing parts of your body no other body part can reach. It clears out chemicals that are trapped within fat cells in and around all your organs.

If you have access a gym or health center with a sauna or steam room then make sure you use the sauna or steam room regularly. Sauna bathing is an excellent way to relax your muscles after workout and rid your body of harmful chemicals at the same time.
