The Metaphysical Origin of Attention Deficit Disorder
As with all mental illnesses, there is a metaphysical explanation for Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD). ADD is a fairly common condition marked by the inability to focus on the task at hand. A person with ADD shifts his or her focus like a television quickly changing channels. ADD makes it difficult to maintain a single thought for more than a brief moment. The person’s attention wanders. This means the person misses important information.
ADD is challenging in many ways. A person with Adult Attention Deficit Disorder will find it difficult to maintain employment and relationships until he or she learns to manage it. In the common reality, people are expected to maintain a steady focus on what is in front of them. The behavior exhibited by a person with ADD is often disruptive and upsetting to others. As a result, the person may be treated as an outcast. This affects his or her self-esteem and sense of self-worth, even as an adult.
Western medicine relies on stimulants such as Ritalin, Adderal, and Dexadrine to refocus the patient’s attention. This treatment is inadequate for such a complicated metaphysical matter. Prescribers do not take into account the source of the condition. It’s difficult to grasp the mystic’s view of mental illness without seeing past the principles of modern science.
As I understand it, human spirits observe multiple layers of reality. An example of this is time. A spirit can see past, present and future events at once. There is no seperation between them. Not only is this true, but humans are collective beings. They have the ability to be in two places at once. You see there are no restrictions in the afterlife. This is not true of the physical world where we can only handle one task at a time. This unique aspect of the physical world was installed by the Cosmic Administrators to make reality possible. The mechanics of reality would break down if we were to experience the true nature of the universe. In our bodies, we are prevented from seeing through the veil that separates us from eternity.
People with ADD experience reality closer together. The distinction between events becomes blurred. In other words, the movie is on fast forward. The frames of reality are being accessed in bigger chunks. It’s like taking off more than one can chew.
There is an unknown biological process in humans, most likely chemical, which blocks access to this metaphysical state called ADD. A person with ADD has an organic glitch that allows this condition to be present. ADD must be recognized as a metaphysical condition stemming from an organic malfunction.
ADD should be dealt with through education and training. Awareness alone can carry a person to great heights. This can be accomplished through a regular meditation practice. It should be pointed out that ADD is not the enemy. ADD can be seen as a gift if the person living with it decides to treat it that way. ADD gives one an advantage in life. A person can see things that are hidden to others. It takes time to see it in this light, but a positive attitude will speed things up.
