One thing my friends and I really enjoy when we go out on the town to one of the many Houston nightlife concerts on the weekend is to look around and see just how everyone dresses. For the most part, everyone dresses pretty normally. However, there are always a few men and women who wear something so outrageous that you not only remember it for a long time but you are tempted to take a picture of it with your cell phone.

Honestly I don’t understand how some people can leave the house the way that they do. I know many probably do it just for attention when they are going out to the clubs, but for some others it’s hard for me to believe that they can look in the mirror and say to themselves “Hey, this looks really good!” and go out that way. Apparently it happens quite a bit based on what I see on the weekends.

I can almost understand it with some of the ladies you see out at the clubs and bars. Girls are always looking to make some kind of fashion statement or trying to pick up on whatever the latest trends happen to be in fashion. However, I think there are some limits that are to this as well. Some of these girls must have some really good friends who are too afraid to hurt their feelings to let them leave home that way.

I think I have seen pretty much everything there is to see as far as fashion out at the clubs. Everything from bright neon colors to dresses that actually had small light bulbs on them and lit up (don’t ask me where you plug it in or keep the battery charger). There are some girls who come out in things that are practically completely see-through, leaving little to the imagination of those around them.

That’s another thing. How is it that some of these girls come out wearing practically nothing at all. If a guy went to a club in a pair of boxer shorts, boots and a white t-shirt, they would throw him right out of there. A girl on the other hand will get special treatment for wearing practically the same outfit.

Speaking of guys, some of them are no better when it comes to wearing outrageous clothes. My philosophy is if you are going out to a club or bar, you should at least look decent. Some of these guys look like they just rolled out of bed. Let’s not even get into the whole thing about having pants that keep falling down to show off your underwear.

It seems to get harder and harder to go out to Houston nightlife concerts without having to do a double take at what some people wear. When did it all get so complicated that you had to make a statement every time you leave the house? I’ll take my simple dress and not end up on someone’s worst dressed list for the weekend, thank you very much.
