Houston Wildest Nightlife Songs You Dance Drunk To

We have all done it at some point in our adult lives. Okay, for some of us it likely has occurred more often than you would like to admit. You have had way too much to drink, you’re having a great time, at that one song you always complain about is being played by the deejay. Except this time you realize that you love this song and it is awesome. You try to drag your friends onto the dance floor with you, but they will have none of it, leaving you to make a fool of yourself all on your own. Anytime that you are out at one of the Houston dance clubs, you are bound to hear one of those songs that you just have to dance drunk to so your friends have something to talk about for weeks on end.

For me, the one song I seem to do this to very often is “Celebration” by Kool and the Gang. In my normal, everyday life, I cringe every time I hear this song. It gets played at every wedding you ever go to and I personally can’t stand to hear again. However, without fail, this will come on at a dance club late at night and I along with other drunken souls like me will get up and dance, thinking it is the best song of all time.

Another one that seems to go over really well with the drunk set is “Tubthumping” by Chumbawumba. Now I don’t pretend to know much about this song, and I am sure that most people who end up singing and dancing along with it do not even know the words. It will come on in the club though and all of a sudden you will have a crowded dance floor (okay, maybe it’s not crowded, but when you’re drunk it seems like it is) with people shouting and singing along, making general fools of themselves.

If you are in a country bar or club, you are destined to hear “Sweet Home Alabama” at some point. It seems like this song really gets the drunks riled up and you might even find the whole bar singing along. Of course, they are doing all the singing while you are dancing away so everyone sees you.

You can always choose to get really old school and get up for “Tequila” by the Champs. Most people know this song because Pee Wee Herman dances to it in his movie. I have to admit I have been known to do a pretty good imitation of this dance late at night, maybe even sometimes right on the bar.

I am sure you could go to more serious Houston dance clubs and hear mixes by the DJ that you are more familiar with. I guess I am a little more old school, particular when I have had a lot to drink. In either case there will always be songs that you are stirred up by, causing you to stumble out onto the dance floor and create an Internet video moment for yourself.
