It\’s getting later and later in the evening on a Friday or Saturday night. The bars and clubs have thinned out some and some of my friends have likely met up with one person or another somewhere along the way. Maybe they even left our little group to go and test the waters elsewhere or be with someone. The closer it gets to 2 AM the more it seems like I won\’t be going home with anyone tonight. Then I remember that there are some last minute options I can check out, if I want to put in the time. When it is getting near closing time and I am looking for Houston things to do, there are a few late night hook up spots I can rely on to bail me out.

You were probably hoping I was going to give you the names of the places I go to when I am getting desperate. Guess again, fine readers. If I told you of my secret spots then there would be no one left there each night except lonely guys like me trying to find someone. Instead of telling you of the exact places so I stand a fighting chance, I can give some traits that seem common among late night pick up spots.

Let\’s face it, if you are single, out at 2 AM and haven\’t met up with anyone, the night is not going well. You still have some options though. One thing I like to do first is check out the nearest dance club. Honestly, the ladies have a much better time at the dance clubs and you\’re more likely to find some still riding out the evening even at this late of an hour.

As strange as this may sound, maybe you do not want to check out the popular clubs either. The less popular ones at 2 AM may have fewer people, but hey, fewer people means less competition for you when it comes down to trying to find someone. Sure, it\’s likely that it this time of the night the cream of the crop may not be still out and about. But you may find some ladies that just might be tipsy enough or desperate enough to ride out the evening with you.

Checking out the popular clubs at this time can work to your advantage in one way. Many times, I have found that there may be a young lady who, for one reason or another, has been left behind by her friends at this late of an evening. Maybe she has had a little too much and doesn\’t even realize she\’s been left. This is a good chance to swoop in and be the hero and offer her a ride home.

Okay, so these may not be the smoothest ways to hook up late at night, but they give you options. To be honest, when I am looking for Houston things to do, sometimes this actually works for me. It may not be a foolproof method, but it gives me something to brag about to my friends the next day when they went home after having struck out all evening.
