It almost makes me think back to all those junior high school dances I used to go to where all the guys were on one side and all the girls on another. You would have thought we would have found a way to get beyond all that by now, but I guess we haven\’t.

Anyway, you need to have your wingmen with you at a dance club. The odds are that the girl you want to get to know is going to have friends there with her. The odds are also in favor of her not wanting to leave them behind while she goes out on the dance floor with some stranger. This is where the wingmen can fly in.

They can pick up the slack and ask the other friends to dance as well. Now the idea of the wingman is that it doesn\’t matter if he is interested in the girl or not. He is just working to free you up so you can get to know the girl you want to be with that night. In essence, he is sacrificing himself for the evening for your benefit.

With our little group of friends, we rotate around who is acting as wingmen. As long as one of us isn\’t seeing anyone steadily, the rest of the group takes the flank while we have a designated squadron leader for the night. Sometimes it works out well for everyone and we all meet someone we want to hang out with.
