I was going over my social media account the other night when I came upon some Houston nightclub social network site that mentioned that ninjas get a free cover charge on Saturday night. I had to look at it twice to make sure I read it correctly. Did it really say that ninjas get in for free? I couldn’t quite figure out why they advertising this fact, but hey, whatever works for them and I moved on.

I mentioned this notice to my buddy the next day at work and he said we absolutely have to go there this weekend to see if any ninjas show up. I thought that it was a big waste of time and a cover charge. My buddy, on the other hand, was so gung-ho about it that I hated to let him down and agreed to go with him.

Saturday night came and we arrived at the club. We even got there early because my buddy was convinced we needed to see how many ninjas came in the door. I can tell you that when we got there, not only we there no ninjas, but it was early the place was practically empty. We took a couple of seats at the bar and ordered some drinks.

The bartender, a friendly looking young lady, came over and took our order. My buddy was looking a little dejected at this time and the bartender asked what was wrong. I told her he was upset that no ninjas were here. She laughed and told him not to worry, that some were bound to show up.

Turns out there was some kind of ninja tournament or contest in town that weekend and several of the local clubs were offering the same deal if any ninjas would show up. Now my buddy was really excited and couldn’t wait to see what would happen. I, on the other hand, was more interested in the bartender and kept talking to her.

After a rather lengthy conversation with the bartender (and yes, I got her number) I turned back to my friend, who was now staring at a table about ten feet away from us. Sitting there were two Japanese young ladies all dressed in their ninja garb. My friend wanted to go over and talk to them and try to pick them up. I thought he was crazy and told him so, but he went over there anyway. I turned back towards the bartender and struck up another conversation. I heard a quick thud and turned around.

There was my buddy lying on the floor in front of the table, while the two ninja girls were nowhere to be found. I ran over to him and he had a small dart sticking in his neck that had paralyzed him. I pulled the dart out and he was fine. He thought it was the coolest thing in world. I said we needed to get the heck out of there before they started doing worse things and we left. Next time you see something on a Houston nightclub social network about ninjas, take it seriously.
