The iconic duo of Kix Brooks and Ronnie Dunn, currently on the summer-long farewell Last Rodeo Tour, has sold more than 30 million albums since 1991’s inaugural album Brand New Man dropped on the country music circuit, and both country music kings sat down with USA Today to talk about the magnificent career they’ve had since the early ’90s. Reflecting upon a luminous career and the power of the ACMs, Dunn said, “1991 was our first Academy of Country Music Awards show. It was our first time to attend an awards show. We won vocal duo of the year and top new duo of the year.” Brooks added, “We won two No prescription cialis awards that night, and it was the same week ‘Neon Moon’ went No. 1. It was the perfect storm, and our sales kind of doubled.”

For Brooks & Dunn, the party was only getting started with the duo’s first ACM Awards show in 1991. While Kix Brooks and Ronnie Dunn will be surrendering their reign in the country music industry this fall after the Last Rodeo Tour winds to a close, they’ll never rid of their canon of country music classics that will remain long after their absence from the music scene. Number one hits like “Boot Scootin’ Boogie,” “My Next Broken Heart,” “Brand New Man,” My Maria,” “How Long Gone,” “Only in America” and “Red Dirt Road” will still reflect upon Brooks & Dunn’s glory days, and in the end the brilliant career of this prolific country music duo can be summed up in the titles to two of the band’s most popular songs: “Proud of the House We Built,” followed by “You’re Gonna Miss Me When I’m Gone” (in that order).
