Feeling Depressed? Understand Depression And How To Beat It

Some people call it the ‘blues’ and some people call it the ‘pits’ and some just call it ‘feeling down in the dumps’. But whatever you call it, it does not feel very good at all. The most common types of depression are:

Major Depression, which is characterized by a sad mood, Insomnia and sleep disorders, and the lack of desire for food. Often when a person is in a major depression, the person feels an utter lack of motivation and drive and the sufferer does not want to participate in life. Some people are rendered completely disabled by depression, and some may even consider suicide.

Dysthymia: This is a less severe type of long-term depression that usually does not totally disable a person. But it prevents the person from feeling motivated and functioning at their best. Sometimes people who are struggling with Dysthymia also suffer from Major Depression, and when this is the case, it is referred to as double-depression.
