Jay-Z Tickets – Jay-Z to Perform at Black Ball NY with Alicia Keys and Sade
The seventh annual Black Ball NY will be held at New York City’s Hammerstein Ballroom on Sept. 30, and MTV.com reports that rapper Jay-Z will perform at the event with Alicia Keys and Sade. The event supports Keys’ Keep a Child Alive (KCA) organization and the singer released a statement about the upcoming event, saying, “Sade? Jay-Z? Both icons and cialis cheap both major influences of mine. I am overwhelmed by their generosity in helping us continue the tradition of making the Black Ball the best fundraiser in NYC. There are more surprises coming up! Stay tuned!” KCA comes to the aid of families coping with HIV/AIDS throughout Africa and India and has raised over $10 million since 2004.
Also in September, Jay-Z will perform a batch of shows with fellow hip-hop heavyweight Eminem in each of their respective hometowns. Jay-Z and Eminem announced their upcoming dates together at the Yankees vs. Tigers baseball game at Comerica Park in Slim Shady’s hometown of Detroit on May 12. Speaking about the co-headlining shows, Eminem said, “This is a once in a lifetime set of shows, and I know we’re both really going to bring it to our hometowns. The fans are going to love this-and so am I. It’s gonna be historic.”
The pair will perform at Comerica Park on Sept. 2 and 3 followed by the first-ever concerts at the $1.5 billion Yankee Stadium in the Bronx on Sept. 13 and 14. Jay-Z previously performed his New York anthem “Empire State of Mind” before Game 2 of the World Series at Yankee Stadium. Billboard.com reports that Jay-Z gushed about the gig, saying, “I’ve always hoped that hip-hop could play any stadium like other genres of music. How perfect is it that Eminem and I get to play our hometowns and show how far the live rap experience has come?”
Although Eminem has been absent from the road recently, performing his last headlining show at the New Orleans Voodoo Music Experience in October 2009, Jay-Z has been touring in support of his most recent album, The Blueprint 3. Jay-Z launched the North America leg of his tour in support of the album, which arrived in 2009, on Feb. 20 at Miami’s BankAtlantic Center. Jay-Z’s wife Beyonce watched the show, which featured special guest Young Jeezy and opening act Trey Songz, along with New York Yankees star Alex Rodriguez and Diddy.
Jay-Z’s latest road trip saw the rapper performing at the Coachella Music Festival in Indio, Calif. in April and the Bonnaroo Music Festival in Manchester, Tenn. in June. Fans who missed Jay-Z this spring and earlier this summer can get Jay-Z tickets online to see him perform with Eminem in September.
Although the economy has slowed ticket sales for many major artists, Jay-Z isn’t one of them! The Boombox reports that along with the Black Eyed Peas, Jay-Z was the only hip-hop act represented in Pollstar.com’s Top 100 North American Tours of 2010 list. Jay-Z landed at No. 12 on the list, garnering $22.5 million from his tour.
