Eminem Tickets – Eminem Is Back in the Spotlight after Hiatus
Eminem was absent for a few years before emerging with his album Relapse in 2009, but the Detroit-bred rapper did minimal promotion for the album, only playing one full-length concert. Things are different this time around, however, as Eminem has been spotted all over the U.S. and abroad in support of his latest album, Recovery, which arrived June 21.
Eminem’s latest cialis cheap public appearance was a surprise one! MTV News reports that Slim Shady shocked fans by taking the stage with Rihanna to perform their duet “Love the Way You Lie,” which appears on Recovery, during Rihanna’s July 21 Los Angeles show on her Last Girl on Earth Tour. Toward the end of her nearly two-hour show, Rihanna began to sing the hook for “Love the Way You Lie” and Eminem joined her, dressed in all black and commanding the stage as Rihanna took the backseat for the rest of the song. The pair shot the video for the single, which is rumored to be inspired by Eminem’s tumultuous relationship with his ex Kim, in L.A. the same week that Eminem joined Rihanna on stage.
Proving those that questioned his ability to make a comeback wrong, Eminem posted the first back-to-back Billboard Hot 100 chart-toppers of his career with the Billboard chart released on July 22. His single “Love the Way You Lie” featuring Rihanna hit the top spot on the chart on July 22, and Eminem debuted at the coveted No. 1 spot on the Hot 100 chart in May with the lead single off Recovery (currently holding court on the Billboard 200 chart) titled “Not Afraid.” “Love the Way You Lie” is Em’s fourth Hot 100 No. 1 single, following “Lose Yourself” (which topped the chart and stayed there for 12 weeks in 2002) and the aforementioned “Not Afraid.”
Eminem’s Recovery enjoyed its fourth consecutive week at the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 chart for the chart dated July 22, selling 195,000 unites, according to Nielsen SoundScan. Recovery is the first album to remain atop the chart for four weeks since Susan Boyle’s I Dreamed a Dream notched six consecutive weeks at No. 1 and the first by a solo male artist since Josh Groban’s Noel remained there for five weeks back in 2007. Eminem released Recovery on June 21, one day earlier than the album’s planned June 22 release date, after the album leaked online two weeks beforehand.
In celebration of the release of his latest album, which chronicles the now-sober MC’s experiences since battling prescription drug addiction (thus the consecutive album titles Relapse and Recovery), Eminem performed a surprise set at New York’s Bowery Ballroom. Taking the stage on the same day his album dropped as part of a freestyle rap battle event dubbed Red Bull EmSee: The Road to 8 Mile, Em took the stage with “Despicable Freestyle,” rhyming to beats from Drake’s “Over” and Lloyd Banks’ “Beamer, Benz or Bentley” before performing his own tracks off Recovery, “On Fire” and “Won’t Back Down” featuring Pink.
Before exiting the stage Eminem told the crowd, “I do realize man, for real, that if it were not for you guys I would not be standing up here right (expletive) now. Honest to God, man-thank you to each and every one of you.”
Fans won’t have to bank on surprise appearances to see Eminem live, as he is scheduled to perform a batch of joint dates with Jay-Z. Dubbed the Home and Home Tour, the trek will see the pair of MCs performing in their respective hometowns of Detroit (at Comerica Park) and New York (at Yankee Stadium) in September.
