What Not to do When on the P90X?
Don’t Do 1
Let go of your fondness for junk food, you can’t eat it if you want to shape up it’s simply as explicit as that. There is a reason why the term junk food was coined because that’s what it is junk for your body. And you don’t want junk going into your body. Some of the common culprits, cakes, chocolates, candy, cookies, soda, processed meats, fried stuff; all of this has to go. If you are serious about toning up and getting a ripped muscular physique, you should give up on all of these and opt for a healthy diet, preferably follow the nutritional plan that comes with the program.
Don’t Do 2
Its very important to set goals, Tony tells you how important they are to get you to reach a particular level of exercise efficiency but you have to understand that you cannot expect to be a hero on the first day. So you start with a goal of 25 reps when all you can do in reality is just 12 or may be 15 if you are pushing it because you could just do 8 last week. Even though it is extremely important to push and challenge yourself constantly and that is the core principle of the P90X, it is quintessential to set realistic goals and not set yourself up for failure because that can be very demotivating.
Don’t Do 3
Don’t be too hard on yourself, this holds true even when your goals are realistic, failure is one of those things in life that simply cannot be predicted and even if you set small goals, there may always be a time or two when you don’t make it, its no bi deal. Be ready to start on a fresh page the next week, beating yourself over something that has already been done is pointless. The motive of this work out program is to help you grow in terms of your fitness level and stamina and these goals will be met gradually, don’t expect success in a day. Remember on of Tony Horton’s most prudent mantras Do your best and forget the rest.
Don’t Do 4
Be consistent and diligent, don’t skip workout, you will always find a reason to justify it to yourself but you will certainly not get the desired results. The P90X workout program is not an easy program and you will have to be truly committed to get through it. There will be times when you will be too tired to move after your daily chores, then there will be those engagements that cannot be skipped but through all of this you will still have to find enough time each day to follow the workout schedule. Remember, the rest of your tasks are for the world this is for you and your body, so don’t skip workout schedules.
Don’t Do 5
Don’t stop eating because it will just make you feel weak and you will not be able to get through the program, besides remember that you are never doing your body a favor by starving; only causing it harm. This is a very grueling exercise program and you will need energy which will come from a fuel called food to keep going. In Tony’s legendary words, it’s not the exercise that runs your body, it’s the food that runs its. If you really want to achieve conspicuous results
Don’t Do 6
As you go through the P90X program you will learn the correct ways to perform the various exercise routines but to begin with it is imperative to remember that you should not compromise your form, when the muscles that you are using for a particular routine tire, its time to stop, there is no sense in using other muscles which may not be appropriate and cause more harm than good. You workout should be kind to your stricture, this will help you to be healthy without excruciating pain that will keep your away from the program for days
Don’t Do 7
Don’t take the warm up for granted, certainly don’t skip it because it is an integral part of the routine. You should get your body ready for the intense workout, so work up a light sweat and get your body to feel limber before jumping into the extreme stuff.
