Because you use your bathroom every single day, it is in the interests of hygene as well as your pride to keep it looking as good as it possibly can. It is perhaps understandable that some people often neglect their bathroom as they simply see it as a purely functional room and not one that they should make a point of keeping presentable. If you are one of the people who likes to keep their home well kept then every now and then you may wish to give your bathroom a bit of a makeover, but are concerned about the cost that it may entail. There is no need to worry as with a bit of creativity and the following useful hints you will be able to give your bathroom the facelift it deserves.
Any bathroom remodelling project can be completed within a weekend as long as you make sure that you are organised. It will of course help if you eliminate all the clutter and remove items from counters and out of cabinets. It is important that your bathroom is a clean slate before you start. So that it is easy to put the room back together when you are done, try to separate items into those which must be kept and those which can be throw away as they arenever used.
As water is obviously used at every visit to the bathroom it is common for a beach or ocean theme to be used. These sorts of themes can be great fun as you could start by painting the room with a bright blue or peach colour; you can then pain on or add sea shells as well as other similar beach artifacts to give a more authentic feel. If your bathroom is large enough to accomodate some furniture then try to maintain the beach theme by using pieces made from wicker or whitewashed wood. This should add nicely to the ‘natural’ feeling of your bathroom. Too add a little bit of variety to the colour scheme of the room then try to use oceanic colours such as pale greens or purples. If you choose to use these colours then appropriate furniture would be made out of dark or grained wood.
If a beach or ocean theme feels a little predictable to you then perhaps you may like to go for a tropical jungle theme instead. For this particular theme the most appropriate colour scheme would be tans and greens. I few touches of red may add an extra spark to the room. Again, if you are looking to add furniture then try to use pieces made from cane or wicker.
Another nice alternative is to go for an Italian style of bathroom. This type of theme is the perfect setting if you are lucky enough to have a spa or soaking tub. These sorts of bathrooms tend to have mosaics, which will look very attractive in a shower. If you have decided to design an Italian style bathroom then try to make use of deep reds, blues and dashes of gold in order to create maximum effect.
