The Different Costs of Laser Teeth Whitening

In this article we look at why the cost of laser teeth whitening ranges so much and hopefully this will eliminate the confusion.

Laser teeth whitening is still a fairly new industry and therefore it is evolving and establishing its rules but like many more established industries the normal competitive rules apply.

So let us look at the different elements that affect the pricing of laser teeth whitening:

Dentists

Many of the well known and trusted cosmetic dentists will be able to charge a premium based on their reputation. Many of these will be based in luxurious clinics in high premium areas like London, Manchester etc and for this reason they are never going to be the cheapest for laser teeth whitening but rely of high wealth customers and referrals from existing clients.

Non Dentists

The teeth whitening specialists will also be charge slightly less than the dentists because if customers are happy to have their teeth whitened by someone who is not a dentist then there has to be a cash incentive. Also the laser whitening specialists are likely to buying products and treatments in volume so discounts will be available from whitening manufacturers and suppliers.

Beauty Clinics and Shopping Mall Booths

We are starting to see more and more teeth whitening occurring in beauty salons and because they have the people and equipment there all the time and are adding laser whitening to their existing range of services they can afford to offer promotions and offers. Similar to what is happening to shopping malls where are whitening booth is erected especially for the purpose of laser whitening. Again to attract shoppers to have whitening they will be offering incentives and offers.

Competitiveness in Local Area

In some areas across the UK the competition is higher than others and for this reason the prices come down. A good example is in the big cities like London, Birmingham, Liverpool etc where there is lots of competition across the dentist, specialists and beauticians and this is great for consumers as they are paying less than in more rural towns and locations.

How Much Laser Time

This is quite an important factor as anyone can reduce their price if they are reducing the quality or quantity of what they are offering. This is the same with laser whitening. The optimum time is around 35-50 minutes with the laser light but some companies who are only offering 20-30 minutes are charging less but then trying to up-sell the customers to buy more time once they have hooked them in to their promotion.

Brand v Unknown Brand

Do you pay £700 for a Gucci hand bag or £70 for an unbranded bag? Essentially they are both hand bags but one has a prestige premium label and the other one does not. They may look and work the same but it is people perception that attracts them to spending the extra money. The same applies to teeth whitening but the brands of whitening might hold less or more appeal depending on the perceived value they mean to you.
