Eyebrow Maintenance Advice
Sure, some lucky women were born with eyebrows that have the perfect shape, density and color, but the rest of us mortals have to put some work into making them look good. The importance of nicely shaped eyebrows is often underestimated, but more and more people are becoming aware of how much they can affect your looks.
If you look closely, you’ll notice that the basic shape of most people’s eyebrows is actually good for their face shape, but almost everyone needs a little refinement around that natural shape. Doing this takes a little bit of time and effort, but it’s worth it.
You need to examine your eyebrows and perhaps experiment until you find the right technique for your own particular type of brows. If you have very full and thick eyebrows it may be best for you to get them waxed regularly. If you have sparse brows you need to be very careful about shaping them and fill them in with makeup. Whatever your eyebrow type, everyone needs to watch out for eyebrow regrowth because letting the new hairs get out of hand can lead to you losing the refined shape you worked so hard for in the first place.
If you’ve been doing your eyebrows for any length of time, you’ve probably noticed where you have problems with excess brow hair. The areas you most likely have to worry about are between your brows, underneath your brows (on your eyelids), above your brows (many people forget this area) and at the outer corners of your brows. Once you identify these areas, all you need is a good pair of tweezers to pluck new hairs out as they come along.
Although it is perfectly acceptable to purchase your own wax and shape your eyebrows at home, you may discover that the shape doesn’t come out as clean as it does in the salon, or that the hairs grow back much faster than usual. The reason for this is because the kind of hair wax typically made available to you in the store is not as good as the wax they have access to in a salon. Sorry to say that it just doesn’t work as well! Many people find that cheaper waxes miss a lot of hairs and they’ll need to tweeze the remaining hairs away. It makes sense to just skip all that trouble and have a professional do the job for you while you lay down and relax.
Whichever method you select for shaping your eyebrows, remember that it’s just as important to spend time maintaining it. Many people will find that the thin fine hairs that aren’t really noticeable when growing back will affect the way they put on their makeup or the way the makeup sticks to the skin. Often, this leads to makeup fading much quicker than you had anticipated. A simple eyebrow check every other night and plucking of new hairs should eliminate that problem.
Shaping your eyebrows and regularly plucking new eyebrow regrowth will help you to simplify your beauty routine and still enhance your looks. It’s a simple step that can make a big difference.
